Even though Fat Cow is know for its meat dishes. You still can't go wrong with their sashimi. It's a tad pricey ($48 for the set lunch) but it sends you straight to food heaven.

All uni-d is love (and food). Featuring Chikuwa Tei's chawanmushi ($5 for regular, $8 with ikura and $12 with uni). The steamed egg is silky smooth while each spoonful reveals more ingredients such as prawns and ginkgo nuts.
We usually come to Chikuwa Tei for its infamous Chirashi Sushi Bento Set ($25) which is definitely bang for your buck.

We found the ramen good but not fantastic. The star would definitely be the pork and especially its pork cheek (toruniku) offerings. It's the kind of pork that defies physics and leaves you to wonder what state of matter it is. Is it a solid or liquid? We don't know but it just melts in your mouth.

This outlet douses the ingredients with a good amount of sauce and they're so generous with the peanuts. The youtiao's texture could be more consistent but it's still yummy.
Comes in portions of $3/4/5 and this stall also offers popiah.

Can't stop ourselves from having rojak!

Definitely satisfied our craving for chicken rice. Not only was the chicken good but so was the pork. The char siew had the nice charring and stickiness while the roast has a nice crackling and crunch in the skin.
We also tried one of the favourites, the soya sauce chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was superb.
However, things can get a lil' sinful here at Lee Fun Nam Kee Chicken Rice. They tend to add lard to their dishes which make it extremely tasty but also that much oilier and fattening. It is also a tad more expensive than other chicken rice restaurants.
We were very pleasantly surprised when we went to this Japanese restaurant at Kandahar St called Box n Sticks. The food was so affordable and value for money!
Pictured is the buta shogayaki (pork) don with onsen egg, chawanmushi, kakiage tempura, miso soup and iced lemon tea. All for $16.90! The marinated pork and rice were tasty while the chawanmushi was silky smooth.
They have even cheaper set lunches available. Even their dinner ala carte menu items are affordable too! You ought to check it out.
An old-school bakery which specialises in Swiss rolls. In our opinion, these are the best Swiss rolls we've had so far. The texture of each long roll is firm yet soft. (Hope we're making sense. But it's just magical.) The fillings and cream are just enough and not overwhelming. Overall, a wonderful dessert to share with family and friends.
The popular flavours are durian and kaya among others like chocolate, blueberry and strawberry and they go for $8 each.
We queued for half an hour to get our hands on those cakes. The staff are so busy with people that you shouldn't expect great and personalised service.
The fried rice that needs no introduction is Din Tai Fung's fried rice with shrimps and eggs.
This dish uses simple ingredients but the execution in cooking makes this one of our favourite comfort foods. You can taste the "egginess" in the rice and the spring onions bring out a lot of flavour. The shrimps add texture and proteins to complete this perfect dish. Alternatively, you can try their other famous dish, fried rice with pork chop.
There is a total of 19 Din Tai Fung outlets in Singapore so there's no excuse!
One of our favourite ice cream parlours and the best part is that its not so crowded despite its ice cream being so superb!
We love the ice cream here because its rich and creamy. Some parlours' ice cream is very heavy on the stomach and makes you feel a bit sick. But at Merely, you can definitely feel and taste freshness and premium quality ingredients all throughout. Their ice cream melts steadily which shows that they don't use much water (makes the ice cream icy) but more premium ingredients like milk.
They have many flavours so check their daily lineup on their Facebook page! Our favourites are White Chocolate Speculoos (pictured), Salted Butterscotch, Horlicks Panda and many more... Normal flavours go for $3.50 while premium flavours go for $4.20 for a single scoop.
