Hearty plate of chicken rice which satisfied my cravings. You will have the option of selecting drumstick (+$0.50) or breast/thigh at no additional cost. I opted for steamed chicken breast which was succulent and accompanied by a side of blanched veg and legit garlic-chilli dip. Chicken skin was fatty though. Of course, we must not miss out the importance of well-cooked rice for this dish. The rice was fragrant with grains evenly separated. Portion size is good for a hungry person.

Sososooo filling and sinful. The breakfast burrito was filled to the brim with eggs, hashbrown, sausages... very much akin to a Macs big breakfast wrapped in a roll. This was my preference of the 2 burritos we got. The california burrito was filled with steak cubes and fries - steak was dry and fries soggy. Unfortunately it sounds better than it tasted. Highlight: If you love a spicy kick, do help yourself to the sriracha or habanero sauces at the counter! (I liked mixing both tgt)

My second time here which surprisingly left a good impression on me. The squid rings were sliced the perfect width for glam eating, though the seasoning was so heavy that left no taste of the squid at all. The ever-so-slightly burnt buttered corn left me wanting more while the generous mixed seeds topping ensured that every bite had a bit of seeds in it. I was left scooping every last bit of sauce with my penne paste.

A poke bowl here costs $9.90 and I added an additional topping of avocado for $1. The original makai salmon was nicely seasoned in shoyu - unlike some places where the fish is unbearably salty. The original mixture of toppings (pumpkin seeds, pineapple cubes, cucumber cubes, carrot strips, etc) provided a good mix of textures and flavours to the poke bowl. Definitely going for this again!

Yuan Cha prides itself on brewing real tea (instead of using syrup) for its drinks. I got the tie guan yin brewed with osmantus at 50% sugar level (was informed that the drink would be bitter for any sugar level below 50%). The drink was light, fragrant and thirst-quenching. Rainbow QQ is a mixed topping of chewy sweet yam and normal yam, which I really liked more than the typical black tapioca pearls!

The cauliflower rice is bombtastic - flavourful w a hint of spicy. Would have enjoyed a larger portion of it. At this price point, I could have gotten more variety at other places... I would return only because of the cali rice which left me wanting more.

Chilled dessert that is not overly sweet with generous bits of pomelo. Best finisher to a spicy and salty seafood meal. Enjoyed this so much I had seconds.

Tasteless with barely a taste of matcha. Filled with thick red bean paste and chunks of mochi within. More appropriate to be named as red bean shaved ice.

A thin crust of well-caramelised smores laid on a thick block of cold matcha ice-cream. For lovers of milky sweet matcha!

Warm watery teo chew porridge is perfect for the rainy season. Side dishes were delicious and flavourful but not much to shout about. I liked the duck best.

Lunch set came with noodles, dumplings (4 pc) and a drink. Fantastic mains. The al dente noodles and accompaniments were a delight to the tastebuds (I enjoyed the generous seasoning of sauces and fried shallots). Got the smoked duck dumplings (lovely slice of wholesome juicy duck meat within) and fried piery dumplings (be sure to dip into the spicy-tinged truffle sauce!). The osmanthus drink was like drinking herbal tea, not to my taste, though it does come with generous longans and legit osmanthus jelly! Expect long queues (great service as iced water’s served to combat the heat while queuing!)
