My lunch for today... It's not exactly a noodle because I use whole wheat pasta (the only kind of noodle available in my pantry)

The chef sure knows how to coax all the prawn flavour out of the fresh-from-the-market prawns because this dish is packed with the powerful essence of the crustaceans. Cooked in olive oil with sweet baby tomatoes and chilli, the two plates we ordered for sharing, went down well with everyone at the table. All too swiftly, they were slurped up.

Aglio olio, but I cheat on the oil because am running out of olive oil. Tahu telur with spicy sweet soy sauce for my husband..

Ayam cah cabai as our lunch menu with a little bit of sautéed zucchini on the side. I particularly loved this dish because it's not easily spoil and it still taste good even if you not re-heat it. A good lunch box item..

Charcoal grilled chicken skewers. This is Indonesian styled chicken satay, we eat it with peanut sauce. This one in Jl. Lombok is one of my favorite. Fyi, there's more than one chicken satay booth there and I don't know which one doing my order :)

What tips these plush pancakes over the scale from great to alarmingly fabulous is that sticky puddle of salted gula melaka they're drenched in.

Today's lunch box for me & husband

One of the specials on the day of visit to Stranger's Reunion's cafe specially dedicated to their famous Buttermilk Waffles. The same fragrant waffles with a slab of thick, juicy fried chicken on top with mayo drizzled. Not exactly something that would fit all tastebuds, but will definitely hit the savoury lovers

Back at Waffles Slayer to try one out of the two Savory waffles, featured in this picture; the Squid Ink waffles with candied bacon, topped with a scoop of icy cool vanilla gelato and finally garnished with thin, crispy pistachio tuiles.

This inviting savory waffle is more than meets the eye. Both sweet and savory are here. I would say yum to savory, but some others may said yuck, because they like them sweet of course. I'd go back right again if I could, but I should have some self discipline though. Enough of waffling for the time being.

If savoury waffles are not your pick, Waffle Slayer also has eight new sweet waffles on top of Stranger's Reunion range to choose from. This one has crumbly bits of cookies that were subtly sweet and finely chopped almonds to pair up with caramalised apples on top of the waffle. The Vanilla ice-cream on the top makes it an Apple Pie ala Mode in waffle form.

This place may lack the all-time favourite Eggs Benedict but the Scrambled Eggs does not disappoint with its creaminess and that it was really runny making it a perfect side for the Smoked Salmon Croissant Croissant was fluffy inside, flaky outside and carried a soft note of sweetness.

Starring a long strip of melt-in-the-mouth pork belly glazed with caramelised yakitori sauce. Noms.
