Soufflé Pancake With Pu Er Tea Ice Cream I wish they told us that they topped it off with Pistachio nuts in the menu just in case someone is allergic. Otherwise, the pancake was really fluffy and soft. The pu er tea gelato was strong in flavor and it wasn't too sweet while the muesli on the side was added for a crunch. It's a well balanced dish in my opinion but I just wish the vanilla syrup or the gelato can be a tad bit sweeter. 8.5/10

Fun Omakase Dining In PJ (RM300/pax) This is probably one of the omakase dining place I would like to revisit. Love the ambience. Simple counter seating, all those beautiful glassware for each dishes. Good interaction with the chef “Do you want the wasabi or pickled wasabi? Pickled ginger or cucumber?” Very fun dining experience and fun menu. (Corkage: RM35)

For a RM70 Omakase Experience Bookmark this spot for your next date night for a casual fine-dining experience that wont break the bank. Opt for the Three-Course set for RM70, or the Five-Course for RM170 that feature Japanese-influenced dishes made with local ingredients. Some standouts include the heirloom tomatoes with housemade roselle vinaigrette and the pork belly with soy milk sauce.

Butternut Squash, French Vanilla Granita Dessert comes in a more savoury form, and as much as I love savoury desserts, I wish this could have been a bit sweeter. Nonetheless, great finish to that outstanding meal.

For Ramen and Sake After Work Slurp on delicious ramen after work at this trendy new joint in Damansara Uptown. Their specialty, Tomo (RM30.90), is best described by Burppler Rachel Yong as "traditional with a little twist". It boasts a sweet-savoury miso soymilk broth, springy noodles, chashu pork belly, a jammy egg and wood ear fungus. Also good is the Tonkotsu (RM28.90) served with the same trimmings but in a creamy 20-hour pork bone broth. Rice lovers should not miss out on the Gyutan Don (RM23.90), a scrumptious rice bowl topped with perfectly grilled ox tongue and chilli padi. Wash that with a fresh sake from the drum! Signature Soy Ramen The ramen is very unique. Only order if you enjoy thick broth. ☺️ Can see myself eating here on a rainy day. Ran out of Gyutan don when we were. But the gyu don was very yummy as well. Also the gyoza & tamago roll.

Gyoza (RM13.90) Juicy pork gyozas but they were a lot tinier than usual. Good snack to have if you’re here for a light meal or to pair with the beers on tap.

For a Get-Your-Hands-Dirty Crab Dinner Round up the gang for a crabby feast at this no-frills restaurant in SS2. Warning: This dinner comes with at least a 30-minute wait, so be sure to have a light bite before you start queueing. Start your meal with the super juicy and flavourful Chicken Wings (from RM3). The super fresh Crabs (from RM50/600g) are the main event here, and Burppler Terence Ong recommends having them two ways – steamed and doused in the delicious sweet and sour sauce. Steamed Crab We queued half an hour to try some of Klang Valley’s most popular crab. The steamed crab was one of the two options (the other being sweet and sour). The steamed crab was fresh and the gravy was sweet although I doubt there’s any Chinese wine in it. I personally preferred the sweet and sour version.

Sweet and Sour Crab We queued 30 minutes for this to try some of Klang Valley’s most popular crabs. One of the two cooking styles available here is the sweet and sour crab. The sauce was unique in its own way where it was tangy and slightly spicy. Wasn’t totally convinced by its popularity but was worth a try.

For Delicious Wood-Fired Pizzas Watch out TTDI peeps, there's a new kid in town dishing out wood-fired pies. Look forward to the Quattro Formaggi (RM34 for a 12" pizza) that sees a mouth-watering combination of four cheeses (mozzarella, cheddar, blue cheese and gouda) and creamy white sauce on a thin-crust base. Also share the Spinach, Feta & Chicken (RM34 for 12" pizza) featuring flavourful roasted chicken and soft feta cubes. Pro tip: Get the Half and Half Combo (from RM30) to enjoy two flavours at a go!

Butterscotch Pumpkin Bruschetta (RM15) Yummy! Loved this for a starter. The mashed pumpkin was creamy and sweet, spread generously on the crispy baguette slice, then topped with beef bacon bits.

Half And Half Pizza FINO is a newly opened pizza parlour nestled in the busy streets of TTDI. Here you’ll find delicious thin-crusted pies on the menu with 3 sizes to choose from - 9”, 12” and 21”. We had the 12” for two of us to share. BONUS: get the half and half option (limited to 12” and 21” pizzas only; both options must be of the same sauce)! Really enjoyed the pie. Crust was delightfully chewy and they did not hesitate to really LOAD it with cheese (cheese pull!). Had the Funghi Misti and Spinach, Feta & Chicken. Both were equally as yummy but I admit to favouring the chicken option more.

For Spanish Yakitori in the City ICYMI: This Spanish yakitori bar has moved to a bigger location along Jalan Mesui, bringing with them the same delicious meats from the grill. Burppler Foodgazer attests they only use high-quality ingredients, so rest assured the meal is going to satisfy. Order the Chicken Skin (RM7), Iberico Pork Belly (RM12) and the Spanish Chistorra Chorizo (RM10). On seafood, the Spanish Octopus (RM22) is outstanding — smoky on the outside while tender. Having been around for awhile, this yakitori restaurant has a newly revamped Japanese setting and menu worth checking out • Given it’s already a reputable Japanese-Spanish yakitori dining spot, Palillos also serves a fantastic lunch set (either rice bowls or sandwiches) during the afternoon that may very well be one of the best Katsu Don in Kuala Lumpur • Both Katsu sets ordered met beyond expectations because of its batter that was so crunchy and light, not too thick just the way I like it, nice pork & chicken cuts and of course a portion worth every cent • Japanese meal also ain’t complete without at least a sushi maki, offering a fresh cut of sashimi in it • Also, thank you Palillos for the indulging dark chocolate mousse. For Bentong Ginger Desserts Look to this dessert parlour in OUG for Bentong ginger-inspired sweet treats and hot meals. For something substantial, have the DSR Bentong Ginger Stew Chicken Rice (RM15) that sees tender chicken in a pungent ginger gravy and a fried egg. The meal also comes with a free beverage! Save some space for the DSR Peach Gum Stew Egg (RM9), a silky custard that features a strong eggy flavour, or the DSR Bentong Ginger Bang Milk (RM9). Another must-have is the refreshing DSR Cendol (RM8) — shaved ice with fragrant gula Melaka and toppings such as longan, sweet corn and cendol.

Cendol (RM8) YUMMY. I liked their rendition of the classic dessert. The usual toppings plus longan! The shaved ice was laden with fragrant gula Melaka. However the ice melted before I got to dig in, so EAT FAST.

DSR Bentong Ginger Stew Chicken Rice (RM15) Super nostalgic plate. Reminds me of my grandma’s cooking. Ginger-HEAVY chicken stew with perfectly fried egg. Beware of the hidden ginger slices because bentong ginger can be very pungent! (But if you’re a ginger fan then go ahead!) PS. Their hot meals come with a free hot beverage too.

Smoked Salmon Sandwich Mahfren who loves Smoked Salmon enjoyed her choice (RM25.80) - she noted the salmon is slightly baked, which added texture and complexity to the smoky taste. Please don't mind her masam muka #sourdoughface. More on our IG account @thokohmakan.

Oven-braised Chicken Sourdough Sandwich My go-to (and probably the most popular) has to be the Oven-braised Chicken Sandwich 🐔🥖 (RM18.50) - sliced chicken breast with cheese 🧀, tomatoes 🍅 between two sourdough slices. I always find the sandwich to be substantial (I only managed half a serving that day) and the chicken slices are quite thick. Perfect Snack I was expecting Cheddar cheese melt sandwich, something like melty cheese that squeeze thru two slices of bread that kind. Yet, here comes the Cheddar Cheese Tartine (RM18.50). Needless to say, sourdough is their specialty and it's always on point. Being a mad cheese fan, it'd be good if they applied more cheese. Despite all that, it is perfect for an afternoon snack.

Dough and Dolce’s baked goods deserves a post on its own, I LOVE THE RANGER COOKIE!!!! Ive never been a cookie person and I never like how my own turn out, but this is my favorite cookie period - cinnamon, oats, chocolate, a slight bite of nuts, THIN AND CRISPY AND HUGEEE for RM6 Wheeee! Chipotle Grilled Cheese Toast Our friend raved about the Chipotle grilled cheese toast (RM22) 🧀 here and we had to agree. Gooey cheese slapped between two sourdough slices is super satisfying comfort food. The sourdough is toasted perfectly to yield crusty sides with a nice, soft and warm middle. It comes with warm, peppery and tangy tomato soup 🍅that's perfect for dunking. For Dates Over Italian Nosh This snazzy joint at The Hub is perfect for casual date nights over Italian-inspired dishes. Start with their Scallop Crudo (RM40) to share – raw scallops served with green apple and bottarga (cured fish roe), which Burppler Thokoh Makan praises for its freshness, flavours and presentation. Next, get the Smoked Guanciale Tajarin Pasta (RM45) with housemade pasta and the Lamb Loin (RM108) yielding lovely juice and tenderness.
