Cream the Curry — a generous amount of fluffy whipped cream that is stirred in with the red curry to give a hint of sweetness to the savoury curry. Tuck into chewy toppoki, beef slices and green/red peppers, all covered with a thick coating of that indulgent sauce!

The Meringue dessert course of the Lunch/Pre-Theatre Menu ($58/4 courses or $68/5courses) may look very identical to the toast commonly found in our local coffee shops, but it definitely doesn’t taste the same. The toasted meringue was super airy and light, sandwiching the smooth and fragrant teh terik cream. I like how it wasn’t too sweet and was beaming with the tea flavor. It’s definitely a unique and well executed dessert that showcases the Singapore culture!

The Rice Cakes are one of the staples at Alittle Tashi and I highly encourage you to get them as your carbs. They are similar to radish cakes, but a lot smoother and softer, with its sides pan fried till crispy! There’s an array of sauces available ($5 each) and the Miso Cream was the ultimate crowd favorite. You can pair the sauces with anything on the menu, which makes each and every dining experience unique depending on how you pair them!

The highlight of our meal at Restaurant Home is the Steamed Red Grouper with Preserved Turnips (part of the Prosperity Menu B — $248/4pax available from now till 2 March 2018). Having it steamed allows us to taste the freshness of the fish, which was huge and filled with lots of meat. We even had trouble finishing the entire fish because we were so stuffed from the big potions!

There are two parts to alittle tashi — the main Dining Room and a smaller Laundry Room at the back for drinks and bar bites. This is the Baked Mozzarella with Furikake ($10) which is available at the latter that is gooey and stringy, served like the good old malt candy!

You know you’re in for a treat when your food comes messy in its most natural state with no time for any plating. We had the Red Grouper Fish Head Steamboat ($22 for small) that is good for 2-3 people and we chose to have the fish meat (no fish bones yay!) without the fish head parts. Soup refill is available self service from the kitchen area! The meaty and thick slices of fish were very fresh and especially appetizing when dipped in the garlic-ky white vinegar sauce as it was tangy. The steamboat is served with a myriad of zichar dishes and you cannot miss out on the Tofu Prawns ($13 for small) with egg tofu, large prawns drenched in an almost-like-chilli-crab sweet, sour and spicy sauce. We also had the Sambal Sweet Potato Leaves ($6 for small) which unfortunately had too little sambal.

Slow Cooked Pork Rendang — spices and herbs, mantou, crispy pork crackling. A flavorful and rich rendang sauce that goes well with the soft steamed mantous, but the pork could definitely be more tender — part of Xia Ya Tou’s new brunch menu available on weekends from 10am - 330pm.

The Tagliatelle Pollo was well tossed with garlic, chilli and sun dried tomatoes which resulted in a really fragrant plate of pasta. The tender chunky chicken pieces and generous amount of juicy mushrooms were a delight as you won’t run out of ingredients to go with the carbs!

Salted York Chick N Waffles ($19) with 3 pieces of Southern Fried Chicken, Charcoal Waffles, Potato Gratin and Salted Egg Yolk Sauce. The idea of fried chicken and waffles still doesn’t sit too well on me but having them separately was pretty enjoyable — crispy fried chicken and some sweet fluffy waffles. As for the sauce, it was a little too milky for my liking and didn’t do much to enhance the dish. I had it with my cuppa Flat White ($5.5) and yay to The Assembly Ground carrying Nylon Coffee beans!

Say Chiizu, a cheese toast originating from Thailand is here in Singapore! Known for its iconic stretchy cheese pull, the cheese is made with specially imported Japanese milk and mozzarella that is stuffed within the crisp Hokkaido milk toast. The cheese is slightly sweet, creamy and savory — all the goodness in one pocket toast!

Enjoy 1 for 1 on all toast ($3.8 - Original, Charcoal, Chocolate) at the following branches:
16 Jan - VivoCity and 313 Somerset, 17 Jan - White Sands, 18 Jan - The Clementi Mall.

Serving Huaiyang Cuisine with a Western twist, the Cod Fish (part of the 6-course set at $88/pax, 1 for 1 opening promo from now till 19 Feb 2018) is served with a purée made with spring onion, ginger and soy sauce. Nicely glazed with the charred edges, the cod fish was definitely a crowd favorite!

An excellent cut of USDA prime rib meat that is aged for 21 days, the meat was wonderfully tender and flavorful. We had the English Cut (200g) which came with 3 thick slices that were more than sufficient given the variety of sides. The sides include mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, creamed corned and creamed spinach. It was a wholesome plate of meat and sides that was satisfying with the good quality meat and generous serving of sides!
