The Tagliatelle Pollo was well tossed with garlic, chilli and sun dried tomatoes which resulted in a really fragrant plate of pasta. The tender chunky chicken pieces and generous amount of juicy mushrooms were a delight as you wonāt run out of ingredients to go with the carbs!
Salted York Chick N Waffles ($19) with 3 pieces of Southern Fried Chicken, Charcoal Waffles, Potato Gratin and Salted Egg Yolk Sauce. The idea of fried chicken and waffles still doesnāt sit too well on me but having them separately was pretty enjoyable ā crispy fried chicken and some sweet fluffy waffles. As for the sauce, it was a little too milky for my liking and didnāt do much to enhance the dish. I had it with my cuppa Flat White ($5.5) and yay to The Assembly Ground carrying Nylon Coffee beans!
With combination of classic breakfast ingredients like potatoes and eggs, the Truffle Eggs Rosti can't go quite wrong. The crispy golden brown rosti had a good crunch with those charred edges which was well complemented by the runny egg yolk, but I struggled to see how the Parma ham added colours to this dish. The truffle in the hollandaise sauce was towards the faint side, which didn't overwhelm the entire dish with its flavor!
Stateland Cafe launches a new rice series and one of the new menu item is this Herbal Duck Confit Risotto ($25 with a drink of your choice). Expect a deep savoury herbal based sauce over a bed of risotto and a generous duck leg contrasted with some crunchy naibai. I thought the herbal taste can be stronger (they're perfecting the recipe!) but we didn't have a problem polishing off the entire plate. Deviating from the usual cafe fare, Stateland always deliver new creations that is bound to satisfy all our tastebuds!
A thin crispy layer of flatbread sandwiching some braised sticky pork belly with refreshing carrot daikon slaw, kimchi, coriander and shallots. The tangy tasting vegetables gave an Asian touch to the flatbread and would definitely whet your appetite to a good brunch ahead!
Brunch and lunch is now available at Don Ho on weekends from 10am onwards.
A chocolate x coffee cafe that will satisfy all the chocolate & caffeine fans. I had the Chocolate Cube Hazelnut Latte that came deconstructed ā chocolate ice cubes, cold milk, hazelnut espresso. The milk did not dilute the drink and the combination serves as a good afternoon booster!
The Dark Gallery was packed on a Sunday afternoon and seemed under staffed. Probably need to give them some time to sort the operations out!
For those with a sweet tooth, the French Toast might be your choice of breakfast at South Union Park. It's topped with caramelized apples and some crispy bacon for a contrast in flavors and texture. Do keep an eye on the organic maple syrup - we might have been too greedy with it and that caused our bread to be a little too soggy!
Knowing that customers might not want to have raw sashimi during the first meal of the day, Chef Terence lightly cured the chunks of salmon to give it a subtle flavor so that we can still taste its freshness (definitely not those overly salty ones). Of course, the bread is freshly baked in-house as South Union Park strives to make most of the ingredients from scratch.
Toast, egg full mayonnaise, salmon with pickled cucumbers and red onions ā the Gravlax Egg Toast is the perfect way to kick start your weekends with South Union Park's breakfast on Sat & Sun 9-12pm āļø
South Union Park prides itself in making most of its ingredients from scratch, and we could easily tell when we tried the dishes.
Take for example the SUPer Breakfast, the house muffin, sausage patties and tater tots are all freshly made in-house. The tater tots are one of the most amazing ones I've had ā creamy smooth potatoes on the inside with a perfect ring of crispy skin on the outside. It took Chef Terence quite awhile to perfect it and I absolutely loved the end product!
The breakfast menu is now available on weekends from 0900-1200 (last order at 1145)!
Baby clams are being sautĆ©ed in a creamy butter sauce with leeks, onions and mushrooms. The sweetness of the clams shone through in this dish and itās pretty addictive just digging into those shells to uncover the clam meat! I appreciated the generous amount of clams with plump clam meat on the inside.
Spicy Korean Chicken Waffle with kimchi slaw, spicy yangnyum sauce and mustard. I thought the sauce can be spicier in a smaller amount to retain some of the crispy texture of the fried chicken. Worth mentioning is the tender thigh meat that was definitely on point!
The smell of these wings greeted our noses upon being served to our table. A beautiful hue of glossy brown is the right color when you're talking about baked wings. I really love the honey miso marinade that gave a nice caramelization on the skin that we easily polished it off in no time.
