This set just topped it all to pamper the palate with a palette of sweet and savoury treats.
Complete with 2 drinks, we were so satisfied with every item in the set, rarely the case for us from most High Tea sets elsewhere. The ala carte serving size of these treats could also be found on their regular menu if one couldn’t get enough of them.
But the problem was that we liked most of them.

Marks & Spencer now has a small cafe space with bakes, cakes and coffee. Nice to unwind at but don’t expect too much from the food and joe. 😂

The cake is quite thick and chocolatey, a bit fudgey but a little dry. Definitely need a drink to go along with it. The coffee... is what it is hahaha, but if you need a seat to chill, this offers a nice spot to people watch as well.

Whimsical presentation and decor aside, this Crawford Street joint also serves up pretty mean waffles and ice cream worth the trip down.

A miso soufflé with yuzu ice cream and vanilla tuile, we guessed its name suggested for the soufflé to be light and fluffy as cloud, and/or eating it would lift one to cloud nine.
The soufflĂ© had delivered in terms of its texture and fluffiness. It was light and eggy although we weren’t sure how was it a miso soufflĂ©. Digging further into the soufflĂ© got jelak and we saw a layer of oil and sweet syrup at the bottom of the pot.
The yuzu ice cream did provide some relief from the sweetness in the soufflé. The vanilla tuile was just a tad too hard.
Overall, not the kind of soufflé we will miss since there are many choices elsewhere.

Comparatively, we liked that their pancakes were very light and fluffy. This mango flavour, which was their best seller, wasn’t really a hit with us. Felt that it overpowered the pancakes which should be the star. The buttery cream (reminded us of the sweet corn butter from McD) was nice but overwhelming with the mango purĂ©e.
Overall, maybe the proportion of the toppings to pancake could be reduce to better enjoy the latter. Otherwise, a good filler snack especially with the small portion.

The aromatic crunch in their thyme waffle cone that made it more memorable.
The reasons we’d always stop by when around at Katong, similar reasons many would share we believe.

Dark Chocolate Praline Tart + Iced Cocoa
Lemon Lavender Cake + Iced white

Total: $15.50

Tried their cakes instead of the ice cream for this visit. Lemon Lavender Cake was served warm with the prominent fragrance of lavender. Not too sweet and really goes well with the unsweetened iced white. The dark chocolate praline tart taste very typical, no surprises, just a decent tart. However, the iced cocoa was really smooth, milk and chocolate blends really well together. Third redemption for Beyond. It’s quite a good deal as we got to try other products instead of always ordering their signature ice creams!

Available exclusively for the month of March, this dessert special comprises of a 3-in-1 combination of white, milk and dark chocolate that’s bound to satisfy all chocoholics! Apart from the chocolate components; Milk custard mousse, dark chocolate sponge cake, coconut white chocolate sauce, this painstakingly curated dessert (20 minutes of waiting time) also comes with passionfruit curd, mango passionfruit sorbet, raspberries that added a tangy note of acidity which serves as a great counterbalance to the other heavier elements. What I fancied most in this platter is the milk custard mousse that was soft, smooth with a slightly creamy and melt-in-the mouth texture coupled with a luscious chocolatey note that’s surprisingly not too sweet. It aslo came with a thin layer of vanilla sponge cake as the base. Personally I am a greater fan of dark chocolate but the sponge cake failed to impress, lacking a characteristic bittersweet cocoa flavour. Instead that piece of dark chocolate shard serves as the main highlight and packs a punch with its intense and lingering bittersweet cocoa flavour. .

Introducing to you PAUL’s Moelleux au chocolat, which essentially is their dark chocolate cake! 💕 Encompassing intense cocoa flavours with sweetness that is mellowed down (something that I really liked!), this treat is perfect for chocolate lovers & it was something that I particularly enjoyed! đŸ‘đŸ»

The cake was very fudgey & chocolatey while remaining soft. 😍 The slightly crusty top & sides provided a little crunch as a contrast to the rich fudgey cake! Overall, it’s a really simple yet decadent slice! 😋😋😋
