Hubby and I decided we should have something soupy for break fast and I saw this the moment I opened the Burpple app. Just had to go try. Verdict: 5/5!! The soup Base with some chili (depending on which level) is very refreshing. Will definitely come here again another time!
Housing not just one, but two stellar supper options, KPT at Bishan should be high on your supper list. The well-loved kway chap stall opens till 4am, promising lovingly-braised intestines, tender pork belly and comforting tau pok alongside silky smooth kway. Alternatively, don't hesitate to join the queue for Ding Ji's excellent fish maw soup and bak chor mee for $8. The soup is robust and satisfying from simmering overnight, and is made luxurious with good quality fish maw. The noodles may not be vinegar-y enough for those who love the pungent kick, so ask for more if you do! Ding Ji is open 24 hours, so come at any time of night!

Located along North Bridge Road, The Ramen Stall is a Halal-certified shop serving affordably priced Japanese dishes till 6am. Swing by after a late movie with friends or after a long night at work with your colleagues and order a piping hot bowl of Volcano Ramen ($11). The chicken-based broth is robust in flavour and is sure to satisfy with slices of chicken chashu and bamboo shoots. Choose from three levels of spiciness β you might want to stick to Level 2 unless you really love a kick! If you're in the mood for something lighter, have the Kaisen Don ($16.90). The rice comes topped with freshly sliced salmon and tuna cubes.

Open daily from 6pm to 5am, this late night ramen joint is the place to go after hours of merry making in the Clarke Quay area. Choose from four different styles of ramen, all of which come with a French lobster base broth that has been simmered for six hours. For a jolt of heat to wake you up from a tipsy stupor, go for the Spicy Miso Lobster Broth Ramen ($15.90), which comes topped with tender pork belly, chicken char siew, black pepper prawn wantons and bamboo shoots. The tongue-numbing, flavourful broth is a blend of Sichuan sancho peppers, chilli oil and three types of miso. They also serve a very tasty Fluffy Omelette Rice ($10.80).

Unagi was so fresh that I don't mind paying more for a bigger slab! The most worth-it meal I've ever spent my $12 on. I can foresee myself coming back here for my unagi fix when I'm tight on money.
Gather the family for a feast at this nasi padang stalwart, which started as a coffeeshop in Bras Basah over 70 years ago. Today, it still dishes up the same crowd favourites, but this time in the spacious, air-conditioned comforts of The Central. Expect classic plates like their tender Beef Rendang ($4.70 per piece), Sambal Sotong ($4.70), Curry Fish ($4.70 per piece), Chicken Goreng ($8.70 thigh, $7.70 for wings) and Sambal β be sure to mop up all the gravy and sambal with lots of white rice. While the dishes may look it, they are actually rather gentle on the spice, which means you donβt have to rule out this place even if youβre dining with older children or the elderly β just as long as they can stomach some heat.

Located near Farrer Park MRT station, JINzakaya is a hip, new izakaya concept by the Les Amis group, and a more affordable alternative to its sister outlet, Sushi Jin. Sharing plates β think Sushi Jin's famed skewers β are the focus at dinner, but at lunch, the restaurant offers extremely value for money set lunches ($12.80 with a drink). Choose from 16 mains including rice bowls, sandwiches, ramens. Try the Kimchi Ramen or Jin Tori Ramen (the latter comes with shredded chargrilled chicken and an onsen egg) β both feature a very flavourful chicken broth β or go for one of the hearty salads like the Jin Tori Salad, which comes with homemade ginger dressing and moreish kawa ebi. To complete the meal, order a side dish like Fresh Handmade Gyoza ($15) or Ika Sugata ($15), whole grilled squid to share. Pro tip: There are only about 50 seats so make a reservation and come early, as the menu items run out quickly!
For the local-inspired creation, the Spicy Miso Lobster Broth Ramen is created with blended spices and chilli such as spicy oil, Japanese Ichimi and Sichuan Sansho, making this set to be a more flavourful and aromatic broth designed for local taste-buds.

From Eat 3 Bowls at Seah Im Food Centre which sells Taiwanese fare. A rather simple yet comforting bowl of Braised Pork Rice at $2.50. Meat was flavourful without causing the whole bowl to feel too salty, and the portion fits for a light bite. Definitely suits me!
The young hawkers behind Telok Blangahβs Truly Curry Rice have moved into the seventh-floor canteen in Jun Jie Industrial Building, about a 10-minute walk from Tai Seng MRT. You will find their signature Hainanese Curry Rice (average $4, depending on the dishes you pick β you must get the deep-fried pork cutlet), along with other incredibly budget-friendly lunchtime eats like Curry Noodles ($3.50), Chicken Chop ($4.50), homemade Yam or Pumpkin Cake ($2) and a star discovery β Chicken and Waffles ($4.50). Portion sizes are very generous and excellent value considering the prices, which explains the crazy lunch crowds. Come by for an early lunch at about 11am instead, so you can eat in relative peace.
$9++ for a plate of cheesy fish and chips and a plate of cheesy chicken with spaghetti respectively but it is honestly worth it if you're big eater because dahellllllll the quantity is BIG. add in a side dish along with your drinks, you're good to go @ only $30+ for 2! π
