You have to try this. Never mind if you were never a fan of θŒΆεΆθ›‹, because this is in a totally different league. Since it was still soft and molten inside, these little balls of molten yolk bursted into a creamy mess within my mouth. And integrated with the well-infused herby tea marinate, topped with savory caviar, this was the cholesterol bomb that's worth going for seconds. And that's what we did, we had a second plate of this even though Eliza Cocktail Club has many other interesting food on its menu - foie gras siew mai, hairy crab roe glass noodles, fried intestines..

Just a short intro to Eliza - it's a modern Asian Bar and Cocktail Club, and it's the new age of entertainment in Singapore. A departure from the traditional nightclub experience, Eliza brings you a holistic and engaging nightlife experience that exudes a charm that is elegantly timeless. You can expect carefully curated cocktails, paired with Shanghai dishes and live jazz rearrangements of pop music, seamlessly transitioning into nu-disco DJ sets.

I'll be back.. Really love this place!

There’s little not to like about this comforting dish of chunky pork belly (with melty fats) wrapped with omelette and drizzled with okonomiyaki sauce and chilli powder #burpple

Nice smoky grilled wagyu beef kiriotoshi, served with wobbly onsen egg on rice and generously topped with fresh truffle slices. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸ»

In the Mediterranean, the locals prefer masticating meat dishes with vigor and heartiness. True to Winestone’s claim of serving authentic Mediterranean cuisine, this steak has that coveted bite and chewiness that the Mediterraneans love. The steak is drenched in a savory and earthy mushroom sauce, and served on a bed of fluffy mashed potatoes. Though the steak is chewier than its Japanese counterparts (well known for its melt-in-the-mouth texture), it is still extremely fatty, juicy and full of flavor with a velvety texture. The sliced portobello emphasizes the meatiness of this dish, and the morsels of porcini mushrooms add a sweet and woody flavor dimension.

Check out my full review of Winestone via the link in my bio.

3 munchies: Tossed in an umami sauce infused with great seafood flavours and a hint of lemon zing, the homemade tagliolini comes with tender prawns, crunchy asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and aromatic breadcrumb sprinkles. There was also just enough sauce to soak up the pasta that was slightly overcooked. The Prawn Tagliolini might be the only pasta dish that I'd recommend from this traditional Italian tavern, however, there were more misses than hits with the mains and desserts.

Started by fish farm and wholesaler Ah Hua Kelong, this restaurant in Haji Lane (it shares space with hip cocktail bar Bar Stories) is perfect if you're in the mood for a seafood feast. Consider starting with the Curry Mussels ($16 with deep-fried mantou, $18 with pasta). The mussels are plump and fresh, and the gravy certainly made an impression on Burpple Tastemaker Amanda Liu, who declared she would gladly drink it all down. Take Tastemaker Zhihui Lim's advice to go for the mantous, which are great for mopping up all that luscious curry. Another interesting dish is the Confit Seabass ($20), served on a base of hummus. The fish, like most of the seafood here, was super fresh and cooked in a way that offered a hint of plum-like sweetness. Mix things up with an order of Braised Beef Shin ($22), fork-tender yet retaining a good bite, served with torched potato mash, broccoli and crisp barley chips. If you fancy a tipple, the bartenders at Bar Stories would be happy to shake up a bespoke cocktail for you (average price $20-$25).
Avg Price: $60 per person

They have the best burgers in town! A late lunch today turned out to be a good thing as we managed to score tables without any queue. Portions are really large and the onion rings are huge! I did find the batter too thick for my liking. The burger was awesome and now I know where to go for my burger fix. I ordered the Old Fashion, thanks to Veronica’s advice. Loved it.

One of the newest rooftop bar in Singapore, reasonably priced wine with a view. What more can you ask for?

Only available during the weekend brunch menu (11am-4pm), this breakfast burger bun features a 130g chicken sausage patty, fried egg, rocket and miso bearnaise sauce sandwiched within two toasted demi brioche bun. Along with a side of tater tots, perhaps this might seem like an atas version of Macdonald’s McMuffin but imo, this was definitely much better (and bigger in portion too)! πŸ’– But of course, the pricetag that came along would be much higher too πŸ™ˆ.The chicken sausage patty was tender, juicy and flavourful, topped with miso bearnaise sauce which added a tangy, piquant note, resembling a hollandaise sauce, albeit less buttery and creamy, one that’s lighter to the palate. Swipe thrice to reveal an outburst of egg-citing surprise that awaits from the fragile sphere of yolk which elicits a vibrant response with a slight provoke, one that’s an egg-citement for the sight (and sense ofc☺️)! πŸ’– The brioche bun comes slightly toasted, while retaining a soft, pillowy interior along with a subtle lingering buttery fragrance. Tater tots are done to an. ideal crisp exterior, a good accompaniment to the burger and great substitute for fries anytime! ✌🏻Homemade Chilli sauce and Ketchup are provided too for dipping, upon request! πŸ…πŸŒΆ .

78 Alkofelic is the new specialty coffee cocktail bar in town - risked not being able to sleep at night by having some caffeinated cocktails after dinner but thankfully managed to have a good night's rest 😁

The Scotch Tea ($13.80++, right) was pleasant to drink - the chai masala tea was fragrant, & the evaporated milk took the milkiness up a notch without making it too sweet or creamy. The scotch, admittedly, doesn't feel as strong as I am used to (that is, on the rocks πŸ˜…), but overall this is a nice cocktail to wind down at the end of your week with.

On the flip side, the Flying Singaporean ($13.80++, left) really packs a punch. If you don't like the strong taste of hard liquor or coffee, then this is NOT the drink for you. Look at the ingredients & you'll know why: Absinthe, XO, coffee. Need I say more? πŸ˜‚ I mentally prepared myself for my first sip, but what hit me truly wow-ed me. A solid, strong drink.

78 Alkofelic is a Burpple Beyond partner, so one of my cocktails was free πŸ™ŒπŸ» The other possible options to redeem are: Savoury, Sweet (which I probably wouldn't go for after that disappointing cake I ate), & Coffee. I am very keen to try their coffee next time!

My brother-in-law highly recommends this Chinese restaurant that specialises in seafood. And boy, is he right.
We feasted like kings last night on what the Chinese call ε₯½ζ–™ (or β€œho leow” in Hokkien). Essentially, it means premium produce. One of which was this platter of 倧倴虾 (β€œdai tow har” in Cantonese). Steamed with julienned spring onions on a shallow bed of egg white, these huge prawns (check out how small my spoon looks in comparison) were truly sweet and juicy with a firm crunchy bite.

Immediately upon getting seated, we noticed they use charcoal grill & that was a good sign which got us really excited! We ordered the Set B (2pax) seemingly "small" on the menu, we were abit skeptical if we would be full. Well, we were so wrong. Almost as quick as we ordered & poured ice tea for ourselves, the table quickly filled up with generous portions of side dishes & the meat platter came shortly after. For the price of $63, there were Pork Belly, Prime Beef Ribs, Seasoned Chicken, Kimchi Jjigae/Doenjang Jjigae. For starters, the meats were not only thickly sliced but also of great quality! Especially so for the prime beef ribs that glistened under the spotlight w it's great marbling & deep red color. The 2 slabs of pork belly didn't fall short either. Thick & juicy! Service here was great & attentive. All you had to do was eat. Servers paid close attention to every grill & even knew when to switch out the charcoal once ours got too strong & the meats were getting cooked too quickly. They are very serious when it comes to quality & helped paced our meal. The extra smile & attention from the lady boss who spoke to us in Korean made the whole experience feel exactly how it would if you were in Korea. Would most definitely come back here again! Great value, great service, great food! ❀️
