Beef pie #nofilter #foodporn

The furikake was mixed with a thick, creamily sweet mayo and the wobbly-soft 62°C egg was a natural eggporn starlet, whilst elsewhere the perfectly almost-cooked teriyaki salmon, which could be consumed on its own and still justify the price of admission, straddled the thin line between solid and liquid with startling showmanship. 4/5

Beef Marmalade and Pickles ($14) was packed with flavours; sweet, smoky, tart, and richness of the beef and caramelised onions. One of my favourite dishes that night! #asia50best

When a restaurant has a 3-month-long waiting list, *sob sob*, you make the most of whatever from there you can get your grubby paws on.
Fortunately, the iconic Sanger of Burnt Ends (thank you Chef @dpynto 🙏) always does a great job of consoling me.
Somehow, I am able to find solace in the warm embrace of its pillowy soft brioche buns kept far apart by a thick and insanely delicious layer of the most moist pulled pork, crisp purple slaw and chipotle mayo.
Of course it's not the same as sitting at one of the highly-coveted seats in the restaurant and feasting till I am a fat, mean, moaning machine but it will have to do. For now.

Finally tried @thecoffeeacademics scrambled eggs with crayfish on toast. Have already been wanting to try this. Just the right portion for that afternoon snack.

Yes, the most remarkable aspect of the bistro - apart from its namesake aesthetic element - is said price point, with the a la carte items being priced from $6 to a maximum of $16 with no applicable GST/service charge. They even have a 7-course (!!) tasting menu for only $37 nett (terms and conditions apply). Zonkers.

While there is a general air of unrealised potential in the execution of the dishes (there is a notable adoration for seaweed and its relatives which proved distracting), the value is indisputable, and there is a certain humble and earnest charm in the proceedings - so absent in the wantonly commercial cafe scene of late - that warrants support and love.

Pearl barley risotto, blue swimmer crab, kaisho seaweed, 63° egg and ponzu. Yet another dish that was pretty umami especially from the shredded crab meat — works great for those who dislike creamy and cheesy risotto dishes for the base feels pretty broth-like. The pearl barley risotto carries a bouncy texture; pretty fun to eat as well.

The chicken was so tender that it fell of the bones. The red wine blends beautifully with the flavour of the meat. Cant ask for more. Simple food, simple flavours yet creates magic on the tastebuds. #burpplesg #singaporelife #amazinggf #lifeisbeautiful #burpple

This is my second time at Picnic. Couldn't help going back for more 😀 this time around, we tried the chicken tacos and dayumm, they were juicy and tasty. We went a bit late and most of the stalls were closing down and we quickly ordered the tacos and lemonade. What we didn't realize was that 1 order($16) meant 3 tacos, and we ordered 2. In the end, we had to pack some and now, I'm looking forward to wake up and have breakfast! :D hopefully the tacos stay nice and do not become foggy overnight. Quantity is not bad for $16. It's good to remember that we pay for the ambience too. Will definitely go back again to try some more dishes!

Good food don't need no HQ pictures. For real, for real. The moment you know it's good food, you don't even take time to take a decent photo and actually get down as soon as possible to savour this bowl of sweet wholesomeness.

The prawn broth was thick and very sweet. The crayfish noodles was great, and the quantity was generous. They give 3 WHOLE crayfish cut into halves, and the meat was well cooked and fresh! It costs $13, which is quite a luxurious food item in a hawker centre.

If you'd like the best of the stall but still be a little more thrifty, I'll recommend you try the big prawn noodles instead. It costs $8, and though you'll need to peel the prawns yourselves, you'll find your effort has paid off as the prawns are really big, fresh, and sweet!

All their noodles come with a generous serving of clams, which definitely makes you feel like you get lots of bang for your buck. No complains there!

One observation is that the Fried Hokkien Mee stall opposite was also wearing the Sumo Big Prawn's tee shirts (go check it out if you're there). My friend and I wonder if they are affiliated in any sense, parents and son(s) maybe? Maybe one of y'all can be courageous enough to ask them for me! ;)

Overall, Sumo Big Prawn serves great dishes, with a prawn broth that is to-die-for. If you have any friends who aren't believers of prawn noodles, bring them here and you'll make him/her a worshipper.
Overall: quite impressed

One plate will cost you $16. Though is abit expensive, but it is totally worth the price. This is a must to try
Rating: 5/5

If you know me, you will know I love noodles! This one wasn't bad. 😻🍴
