Great Hawker Fare

Great Hawker Fare

A list of hawker fare I've tried. I'm not very particular with hawker food, but it has to at least be delicious, value for money, and doesn't make me regret after eating. šŸ˜†

Unassuming wanton mee perfectly done by the guys at Chef Kangā€™s! Costing just $5, and with just the right amount of portion, this bowl of wanton mee is one of the best, if not the best, I have ever eaten. The queue has died down now but the standard is still at its tip top. Go support!

Good food don't need no HQ pictures. For real, for real. The moment you know it's good food, you don't even take time to take a decent photo and actually get down as soon as possible to savour this bowl of sweet wholesomeness.

The prawn broth was thick and very sweet. The crayfish noodles was great, and the quantity was generous. They give 3 WHOLE crayfish cut into halves, and the meat was well cooked and fresh! It costs $13, which is quite a luxurious food item in a hawker centre.

If you'd like the best of the stall but still be a little more thrifty, I'll recommend you try the big prawn noodles instead. It costs $8, and though you'll need to peel the prawns yourselves, you'll find your effort has paid off as the prawns are really big, fresh, and sweet!

All their noodles come with a generous serving of clams, which definitely makes you feel like you get lots of bang for your buck. No complains there!

One observation is that the Fried Hokkien Mee stall opposite was also wearing the Sumo Big Prawn's tee shirts (go check it out if you're there). My friend and I wonder if they are affiliated in any sense, parents and son(s) maybe? Maybe one of y'all can be courageous enough to ask them for me! ;)

Overall, Sumo Big Prawn serves great dishes, with a prawn broth that is to-die-for. If you have any friends who aren't believers of prawn noodles, bring them here and you'll make him/her a worshipper.
Overall: quite impressed

Pardon the image quality (it was a screenshot of a snapchat video šŸ˜…). Oh well, good food no need no high quality photo taking to prove itself~ Anyhow, this Claypot rice stall is really worth a try. It's really value for money (

The duck rice stall is definitely a treat at Zion Road Food Centre. Don't miss this one out when you're there!
