Simple and comforting, yet delicious. Pork Cutlet, breaded prawn, and pork slices atop eggs in a dashi broth. Delicious with the rice and shichimi powder. Free flow of the rice, miso soup, and pickles to mop up all of that sauce.

Sukiyaki hot pot is perfect for rainy weather particularly since I’m feelin’ the chills due to cooler temperatures and weak immune system.

Tons of ingredients simmered in soy sauce broth [that’s saltier than the norm which I like!]. The set items include white rice, prawn tempura, salmon sashimi, salad, miso soup and pickles.

The best part of the meal, without doubt — free refills of rice [white rice lovers, rejoice!], miso soup and pickles.

Had 1-for-1 wasabi mayo chicken don [$17.01] delivered by GrabFood and it is totally worth it! The chicken arrived still warm (it helps that the journey was quite a short distance), crispy and went so well with the wasabi mayo that is not overly spicy. There is also pickled salty vegetable at the side which balances the jelak-ness from the mayo and fried chicken really well.

I was craving for hamburg steak after watching Korean hit drama Reply 1988. It was the favourite food of one of the characters and I couldn’t resist ordering this after a visit at the gym. The Wafu-drenched double hamburgs were served with melted cheese and were so flavourful I could understand why the Reply 1988 character liked it so much haha.

Beer is great value at $5 per glass. Ordered the Shima Hokke (salted grilled mackerel) but it was close to inedible - fishy, soggy, watery. Like if you were to have microwaved a frozen fish, but for not long enough. Service was great though - and they allowed me to changed to another dish immediately. Got the Tori Katsu and it was fine.
Interestingly, table next to ours ordered the saba and it also looked soggy and microwaved (I’ve seen better ones in school canteens).
Other dish we had was the vege/pork stir fry which was excellent!

Bottom line is: get things that don’t look like they can get away with microwaving it. But great service here will make up for it if you do order something not to your liking. 2/5 for food; 4/5 for service. Overall 3/5.
