My favourite yakitori place can be found here, in Hokkaido. This is also the place where I tried ostrich sashimi for the first time in my life. Also on the menu are horse meat sashimi, horse tongue sashimi, and beef tongue steak, besides the skewers.

There are a few restaurants in Hokkaido that I'll return to again, and this is one of them.

I really like how owner and Master Matsuo worked his grill at this Izakaya. That grilled exterior was always served hot, crisp and smoky. This is where we had the best chicken skin, wings, backside, and this chicken balls with herbs, served with a raw egg.
