Ya Kun Kaya Toast (Waterway Point)

Oh my this cup was soo bitter. And a bit too acidic too. I only took one sip and couldn’t stomach it. I’ve had better at this branch before.

Nutella Cheese Toast $3.80.. Eggy thick toast spread with Nutella and a slice of cheese. Christmasy colored sugar and choco flakes were scattered on top~ Efforts 100% but taste wise... ... ...!

Sweetness level just nice. Very hot and steaming.

While delicious, they taste nothing like the real kaya toasts. Side Note: Kaya Butter Set (S$4.80) becomes S$6.50 to upgrade to large iced teh o kosong. A whiff of authentic durian greeted me as I carried the toast to my table. Indeed, @yakunkayatoastsg didn’t disappoint me but they should’ve called this durian toast instead as I couldn’t taste the kaya at all😂 The durian spread somewhat reflect notes of a durian stick. Nevertheless, love the combination of butter, kaya and durian spread sandwiched in slices of warm crispy bread. On another note, I find both the set and ala carte slightly pricy though it’s worth giving a try. ・
First time in my entire life eating kaya/ any traditional toast from a coffee stall and I’m glad it was a lovely experience. (I sound foreign though I’m born and raised in Singapore..)
