湾仔海鲜街 Wanzai Seafood Street

The fresh live seafood here is really cheap! This system works this way: you pick a restaurant, go to the alley behind to buy whatever seafood you want, give them to the restaurant, pay them and they will cook it for you. The alley where seafood is sold operates like a market, so you can and you should bargain for lower prices, even though the starting prices may already be considered cheap for us Singaporeans. The live abalones you see in this picture were going at 10RMB for 2-3, and that converts to about SGD$2! I had a local bringing me around and helping me with the bargaining so I got really ridiculously cheap deals!
