I don’t know if it was because I was too hungry in the morning, but all the bakes I got from Tsumiki simply slaps (probably because they were all sweet too), just perfect with tea. I was so happy to see them still open in the evening last Thursday, and with a fair amount of bakes left, I knew I had to get some to try (I had failed a couple of times as they usually sell out pretty early on in the day)~
Their famed Honey Toast ($5.50) was everything I expected and more with their signature Shokupan toasted with honey, sugar and French AOP butter, finished with orange zest. Love the caramelised crunchy edges so much, and the touch of citrus was lovely. So moreish!
A new bake on display, their Caramel Cinnamon Roll ($5.50) was delicious too. The sweet-savoury caramel glaze on the top added a nice oomph to a classic spiced bun. Not a fan of golden raisins, but the combination had a nice balance.
Another tantalising number, the Kinoko - Earl Grey Milk Cream ($5) was studded evenly with beautiful specks of Earl Grey tea leaves in the dough. The pleasant and fragrant bergamot flavour worked superbly with the smooth and rich milk cream.
