Head to The Telegraph by Olivia, conveniently located at Guoco Midtown, and indulge in our #BurppleBeyond 1-for-1 deals: Main Dish + Cocktail or Main Dish + Bar Bites.
Don’t miss out on the Coconut Braised Beef Short Ribs, served with apricot and raisin pilaf, splashed with coconut gravy, and topped with house peri peri. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or a casual bite, they’ve got you covered!
Choose from your pick of burpple deals at this cafe bistro at the swanky new Guoco Midtown. We went with the Mains + Bar Bites combo, meaning from a selection we could get two sets of Mains + Bar Bites for the price of 1, worth!
For Bar Bites, we got the Har Cheong Gai Winglets ($16.80) and Grilled Lamb Chops ($26.60). Winglets were crisp, juicer, but could use slight bit more intensity in flavour. Lamb chops came in such a large portion, but about a quarter of it were the fats haha! Otherwise, the lamb was grilled well and nicely seasoned, without the gamey taste but a tad too oily for my liking.
As for the mains, we went with the Hokkaido Scallop Pesto ($24.80) and Miso Baked Salmon ($26.80). While the scallops weren't quite fresh the pesto pasta was quite addictive and paired nicely with the fusili. On the other hand, the baked salmon was a tad overcooked and underseasoned, with the only flavour being some kind of miso mayo squeezed on top of the salmon. At least marinate the salmon in miso! The saving grace was the mashed potatoes which was buttery and creamy.
Overall, food was decent but there is room for improvement. Service given was also just passable. Ambience of the place was nice but somewhat stuffy and warm. But the burpple deal sweetened the meal, with the total for the 4 dishes plus a pint of beer coming up to just $76.
Wanted to try this place and enjoy the new guocco midtown.
The pasta was ok, they gave quite a few scallops (more than I expected)
I like the fried squid, portion size is quite big.
The har Cheong gai chicken was a little too Chao da, could tell they over refried.
But we paid around $70 for two mains and two pretty big sides & the place was nice and quiet
But not sure if I will come again although.
1 for 1 burpple deals are so worth of the money. And the drink is nice too. Scallop with very fresh taste. Good. Will come back.
