Located around Plaza Arkadia, The Hermitage stands out from others through its sky blue exterior outdoor frame with minimalist wooden furnitures. I have to say they do serve decent brew coffee and pair it with meringue kisses. However, I do think they have an extensive items on their all day dining menu emphasised on main source of protein, eggs! There is a page of brekkie dedicated to only egg dishes.
Being slightly adventurous I opted to try their version of club sandwich which comes in a decent portion. What makes it special is they used soft buttery brioche loaf instead of the usual English bread, sandwiched between breaded fried chicken pâté, foie gras butter, julienne cabbage and onions, thinly slice saucissons and mushrooms. The sandwiches comes with some salad leaves and a bed of fries. After my third bite, I started to think it’s a bit too greasy probably due to the foie gras butter. RM26 per serving.
If I could, I would be buying these buttery croissants by the bulk and have them for breakfast everyday. They are soft, flaky and again, buttery. While the salted egg butter and compote was a nice touch, you could definitely eat them without it. I only wished they made bigger croissants.
Slow cooked duck leg, foie gras butter, cheese and fried duck egg. Recommended to order!
Their rendition of aglio olio includes the use of XO sauce with generous amount of seafood.
Butternut cream, almond chocolate and housemate vanilla ice cream. Simple but well executed.
Filled with tiger prawn, shredded mushrooms and cheese. The filling was generous but I did not taste much cheese
