Pleasantly surprised by a 15% discount with $30 purchase 😍 Wasn't as good as the other Teppei outlets in terms of taste, but still relatively decent for a quick fix. Service was pretty good too!
Saw there is a $20 promo for kaisen salad with 1 add on and decided to go for it. Ordered kaisen salad with negi toro.
Even though I'm dining in, the kaisen salad comes served in a plastic bowl with a lid, separating the salad and the kaisen mix. Appreciate the separation but it's hard to eat with a flimsy lid.
The kaisen mix is as expected, the quality is high. The negitoro though, it's oxidized minced toro, making it kinda dull. Definitely can't taste the fragrance of toro. I'm pretty sure there should be negi in the mix but there wasn't.
Also, not sure why the cracker bits was added in it. It doesn't taste bad but I didn't want it in this.
Ambience of the place is busy. It's alright for lunch as this is the less crowded place considering it is changi business park.
However, the lady at the counter is too enthusiastic that she greets everyone in a high pitch voice every 5-10 seconds. My head is splitting from all that. Calm down lady.
Overall, there isn't really any incentive to dine in for the kaisen menu. You get pretty much the same thing if you order through delivery.
Skip the negitoro, you will probably get better bang for buck if you ordered other add-ons.
If you will like to dine in, I'll suggest late in the afternoon or evening when it is less crowded.
Spicy Miso Chirashi Don @ $16.80 😌 Other limited time flavors include Spicy Sesame and Spicy Yuzu! Really loved how well it goes with the generous portion of sashimi and it's not THAT spicy (as there were two chili icons for this).
As a sucker for all things salted egg, of course I had to have it! The salted egg sauce was great on its own (not as sweet as the Irvin original) but I didn't feel like it worked well with the fish 🤔 Still, a pretty great novelty dish to have once in a while. #thisCuriousCraving #epicuration #burpple
Thanks to @ubereats , I can finally try @teppeisyokudo at the comfort of my home! Generous amount of fresh fish cubes well marinated in this Kaisen bowl brings comfort to my soul after a day's work 😌😋
I'm so glad they opened a branch in the east! This ma go to for affordable and fresh kaisendon ($16) + hotate ($3.80) to satisfy that Japanese craving. Somehow the Teppei Syokudo in Republic Plaza still tasted better imo, but plus points for freshly grated wasabi 👍🏻
