Here is a good place to get your wanton mee fix in the Bugis area. The noodles here are the springy qq kind, with lean char siews slices and tasty wantons. Go for the set meal which will cost you only $5.50 with a drink of your choice.
PS. Apparently this is the only Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodles outlet that does not use any pork or lard in their cooking.
Nonsense lol. I skipped their awesome wanton mee for once and hoped they would impress me - I wasn't. Most things were ordinary but the centrepiece wings, except being freshly fried, did nothing to warrant a dedicated dish.
The juicy fried chicken dumplings yield an explosive inner meaty moistness with each bite, while elsewhere the thin noodles possessed the coil springiness of a Spoink's tail. Primally satisfying. 4/5
Basic wanton mee. I do prefer this style of wanton mee as compared to that with lots of black sauce
