The pork slices were tender and super porky. The pork taste was pleasant and unlike usual pork taste. Ramen egg was done nicely. However soup wasn’t amazing. Worth a try still.
Had this 50% off during their anniversary discount (~$12.45). Very worth it during the discount period as there were at least 4 big pieces! Juicy meat but was pretty boney though, which made it a little prickly to swallow down.
Ordered the Chef Recommended dish! Said that there was chilli but tbh couldn’t really taste it. Loved how the soup was rich but not oily and egg was simply perfectoooo!!! Had a sweet potato cutlet ($4++) along with the ramen was rly sweet and crispy! Would rly recommend this
$15.80 for miso deluxe ramen. Its worth it as it is a big portion in terms of ramen and the pork slices. Enjoyable. Thou the soup i find so so.
Perfectly deep-fried to a golden brown and so delicious to eat it is gone before u know :p
Fried pork ribs with spicy ramen and lots of cabbage. Definitely not a classic ramen but I keep going back for more! The fried ribs were not hot but definitely warm them up in the soup. Surprisingly the batter holds up. The cabbage makes the soup refreshing to drink, also feels a little bit healthier.
Service definitely can be better.. but ramen worth going back for! 4😋

A hearty Prawn & Katsu Curry meal @ Tampopo, to satisfy my hunger pangs and a great way to kick-start the weekend too!

However, when the pork katsu arrived, the waiter told us it’s chicken katsu, so we ended up having the wrong set. I surely didn’t enjoy the chicken katsu as much as I would if the set were the pork katsu, while my friend who cannot eat pork also accidentally ate it instead of chicken. The careless waiter really ruined my dining experience in Tampopo.

I ate the Kyushu Ramen and it is very different as compared to normal ramen soup base since it is milky. It's quite tasty but I preferred the normal pork broth!
finally settled for some tonkatsu instead! cheese layered tonkatsu with flowy cheese 😍 the mentaiko one pales in comparison imo.
Small portion but it packs a punch! The truffle taste was strong yet not overpowering (like gasoline, you get what I mean). Definitely gonna order it the next time round!
Remember to ask for sushi rice. Their default is to serve warm rice. Generous negi (spring onion) generous toro (fatty tuna) makes a hearty meal!
This has become the must order item here at Tampopo - This never looks anything close to the type of ramen that I would have readily order. Plain as it may look, the stock is full of chicken collagen and the simple sweetness of chicken soup. The magical touch comes with the Japanese herb (rocket?) that gives it that citrus fragrance, which instantly appeal to your palate. No wonder they say, the smell (in this case the citrus smell) comes before the taste.
Always love their food and ambience. The salmon and crab roll is good and tonkutsu is one of their signature dish.
So I had the tonkatsu there and forgot to take pictures. THE HORROR. I WAS LIKE OMG HOW CAN I FORGET?! So the only picture I took is this really nice ice cream. But this ice cream is really good, the matcha flavor literally melt onto your tastebud and soak your entire mouth with it. 😍😍😍 The way to eat this is, pop it into your mouth and let it MELT.
My favourite place for ramen a few years back... Noodles are springy and broth is sufficiently rich but lacking a punch. Their tama needs to be more flavourful though. Overall, a decent bowl of ramen.
After a strenuous grocery shopping session at Meidi-Ya, what else can be better than noisily slurping on a steaming hot bowl of Tampopo's Black Pig King ramen ($15.50)? A nice change from the heavier tonkotsu based ramen I typically go for. Also added some of my favorite MENTAIKO for $2! 👅
