The Signature Black Forest Cake ($16) is probably the most expensive slice of cake I have ever had! The chocolate sponge cake is very moist and soft, the cream is smooth and light and the Kirsh-soaked cherries complements the chocolate without overpowering it. I like that the flavours are balanced and this is not cloyingly, as some chocolate cakes can be. Although I enjoyed this cake thoroughly, this is probably an once-off splurge for me as I am actually not a big fan of chocolate:P Nonetheless, still a pretty impressive Black Forest!
Since we’re currently in this semi-lockdown situation, we can only order for takeaways. So, ordered 2 of their Single portion Pork Knuckle to-go.
This is my first time ordering it to-go and was pleasantly surprised at how the crackling was still rather crisp when got home to consume it. Also, they packed the food very neatly, and included their fabulous sauerkraut, grated garlic and mashed potatoes (beneath the knuckle).
Needless to say, the grated garlic and sauerkraut paired perfectly well with the superb Pork Knuckle! 😋😋👍
Was craving for their succulent Pork Knuckle. So stopped by to have this before heading home.
The main dish was 1/2 of a pork knuckle; and I decided to order 2 of it. I love how they do their pork knuckle - very crisp crackling, and tender meat, and full of flavour! 😋😋
Decided to give their Pork Belly a try since I’ve always had their Pork Knuckle (which is one of the best in SG!). I ordered this via delivery; which was rather prompt. The pork belly was still warm when I had it, and the meat texture of different from that of done by our local roasted method. Meat was nicely roasted and crackling was still slightly crisp. The only disappointment is the portion - perhaps that explains it’s their Appetiser dish.
This Black Forest Cherry Cake, named for the signature liqueur of kirschwasser / morello cherry liqueur it uses, stays true to the traditional recipe, and is still among the best versions I've tasted.
.
It has a moist, soft chocolate sponge cake, layered with airy whipped cream, studded with sour cherries infused with kirschwasser / morello cherry liqueur, garnished with maraschino cherries, and chocolate shavings.
.
Taste is chocolatey sweet, sour, sharp, and boozy, all at once, very delightful.

The traditional Swabian meat pocket / dumpling, square in shape like the Italian ravioli pasta (and made from pasta noodle), is large, and generously packed with a filling of minced beef meat, smoked beef, spinach, onions, bread crumbs, parsley, nutmeg, and pepper.
.
This meaty pocket is served in a warm chicken and vegetable soup / broth that is savoury salty in flavour, completed with a garnish of soft caramelised onions and crisp pea shoots.
.
The meat pocket / dumpling itself has a nice chewy exterior, while the interior is hot, moist, meaty, savoury salty, and so satisfying.
.
As good as before.

Think of this like a dessert version of fried onion rings.
.
Seemingly simple, I appreciate the complexity in making this; from ensuring that the green apple slices are sufficiently thick and juicy, able to fry without going dry; to the thinness of the crisp beer breaded batter, which envelopes the apple rings without breaking.
.
Coated in a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar crystals, this lovely dessert has addictive fruity sweet spice flavours.
.
Served with a large creamy smooth scoop of vanilla ice cream. Completely delicious, I loved every bite of this.

This is more affordable than before.
.
They've omitted the mashed potatoes this time, but the juicy crisp sauerkraut fermented cabbage is still present, refreshing the palate with its sour sharp flavour.
.
The pork knuckle is partly moist and partly dry, with tender pork meat that comes off easily from the bone, and is meaty savoury salty in taste with a light chew.
.
The thick layer of fats is easily removed, and the pork crackling skin is super crisp and savoury salty, crunching beautifully when bit. Very satisfiying.
.
Portion size is large, making it worth sharing between 3 to 4 people. Served with an addictive brown gravy on the side.

It has been a long while since I last came here for their pork knuckle. Was going for an event that’s located near to S-Cafe, hence popped in to have their best dish - pork knuckle.
I must say, this time, the pork knuckle served had superb crackling (from the last I had) a it was real hot and crispy and the meat inside was warm and tender to the bite! Usually, midway through the knuckle, the remaining half of the meat and crackling would have “cooled” and so the cracking ends up being a little chewy and meat is a drier. However, today it wasn’t so; but it could also be because I was seated at a corner where the aircon was not blasting like my previous visit.
Still thumbs up for their signature dish! Plus prompt customer service.
The breading looks thin, but its crispness really does the job, adding another dimension to the lean, rich meat.
The aroma of this dish was a lot stronger than the taste? Smells like churros haha but worth a shot! Not a big fan of the vanilla ice cream because I felt like it didn’t go with the Apple bits that well. But I enjoyed the fried apples
Been a long time since I last had German Pork Knuckle. Had craving for it and glad I returned. S-Cafe has one of the best German Pork Knuckle in Singapore. This was the whole knuckle, which I had all by myself *yum!
Me and my three other friends chose this cafe for a casual night out. Just before we headed to the place,i read through the reviews online and realized many proclaim they have the best blackforest in town🎉 However, this may be a open secret that makes it out of order when i reached the place.... Anyway, we ordered super platter for S$88.00 ++ with 3 side dishes. Personally i like the combination of sauerkrat (fermented cabbage)and knuckle! It alleviates the greasy feeling while eating knuckle 👍🏻👍🏻
Will definitely go back for it’s black forest cake 😹😹😹
Went back to SCafe, this time on my own. So I ordered the single serving instead of the sharing portion of the whole pork knuckle. Even this portion was so generous that I could barely finish. It’s such a value-for-money place for German Food!
The pork knuckle is freshly prepared, with crispy crackling. The sauerkraut has finely grated cabbage with bits of pork mixed in it. It is by far the best in Singapore! After my first try here, I’ve revisited the Cafe, each time with different friends to introduce them to what I think it’s the best place for authentic German food!
A old fashioned strawberry shortcake filled with whipped cream and strawberry. Usually most of the strawberry shortcake made of the soft flour, but this made of hard flour and need to match with whipped cream.
Tiramisu have strong flavour of brandy and quite waterish for the base. It's quite up to standard for taste, texture, the consistency of the cream.
It's one of signature roasted pork knuckle dish and serves up around 3 to 4 people. Served with special sauce with pork knuckle and also can be dipping 3 types of sauce, tomato, mustard and chili.
Homemade Spätzle pasta matched well with white wine sauce and marinated chicken. Its unique Spätzle pasta dish for germany that I never see it before at Singapore. Good experience to see different kind of pasta at germany to sell at singapore.
