REMARKS:
- Interesting cook who wears a cowboy hat
- Very thick and long strips of carrot cake
- Good for those who love chyepoh but we both found it a little too much (we finished the carrot cake but there was a bed of chyepoh left)

From 北京燒臘。雞鴨飯 at Soy Eu Tua Kopi Tiam which houses other notable tenants such as Ah Lim's, Chendol Melaka and Chicken Legend (aka Coconut Steamboat).

Was actually drawn by the thick cuts of meat by the people eating around the stall; the meats were not too bad — the char siew came pretty chunky though it's a pity how it's the dyed sort while the roast pork was better with enough bite and a little bit savoury with crisp skin. I was actually more drawn to the noodles; absolutely loved the sauce they used here which was pretty dark and flavourful — request for chili and the bowl of springy noodles comes with a bright and savoury, moderately-spicy kick that I really enjoyed.

As I am not a fan of the dry version here ("132 Mee Pok Kway Teow" at Marine Terrace is my go-to for that), this is what I prefer to get instead: a piping hot bowl of "kway teow" soup, flooded with minced pork and garlicky bits.
Do note this is a special order because a standard one would include prawns and fishcake.
I like the sweetness of their soup and I find comfort in slurping up those ribbons of smooth rice noodles.

Tender and moist chicken breast, a thick gingery chilli sauce, fragrant rice that isn't oily plus a "kiam chye arh" double-boiled soup - all for $7.50. Yes, I expect my classic comfort food, economically priced as it is, to also have some standard. 😊

Super spicy but super shiok. Love the bits of lard, and it has just the right noodle to meat ratio!
