The Food
I ordered the fishball mee pok dry served with 7 fishballs and Tau Pok. The fishballs here were medium size and nicely flavoured, smooth, bouncy and springy and most important very fresh. As for the noodles are slightly soggy and over cooked. However, the chilli was sweet and spicy and blended well with the noodles.

Reasonably priced at $4.00 per bowl for extra noodles

Song Kee Kway Teow Noodle Soup (not the Joo Chiat shop but the Toa Payoh stall) opens a new outlet at Thomson Plaza just beside Han's — the stall it occupies is a modest space situated in the middle of the aisle in the same cluster as Ryori by Sushiro (this takes the space formerly taken by Shi Li Fang), and it serves up only one dish with various choices of noodle type in either big or small portions. Patrons can also opt for their Fish Dumping/Fish Ball/Meatball soups as well.
Going for the Mee Pok option with chili and vinegar all added, the Mee Pok here noticeably comes without pork lard (I miss ya, fried crisps of irresistible sinfulness), though comes with fishballs, meatballs and fish dumpling. They are quite heavy-handed on vinegar — definitely the strongest tasting element in the entire bowl so do request to leave out/go for less if you are one who prefers it to be lighter. Noodles come pretty springy with a bite, while the fishballs were pretty bouncy with the meatballs being a little less tightly-packed, thus being softer than the fishballs. The Fish Dumpling was decently packed with meat and was also springy; pretty decent.
