Supposedly a healthier version of the usual orange-hued tonkatsu, but as with most heather versions of dishes, this felt rather lacklustre. Batter wasn't as crunchy and flavourful, and the pork was quite tough and bland. Didn't really enjoy this meal, except for the free flow rice/cabbage/miso soup.

We visited the Japanese food court near the Don Don Donki in Central mall and we saw this peculiar tonkatsu stall which supposedly sells white tonkatsu! Given that it looked interesting, we decided that we had to give it a try and we got the Shiroi Tonkatsu Tenderloin set! Indeed, the fried pork tenderloin cutlet was a lot more lightly-coloured than what you would get at many other specialty tonkatsu restaurants!

However, the set meal was mediocre at best. ☹️☹️☹️ First, the pork cutlet was not crispy on the outside and the breaded exterior was somewhat leaning towards the soggy side. Hence, you do not get the satisfying crunch when you bite down on the pork cutlet. Second, while pork tenderloin is supposed to be lean with few fatty parts to it, the meat was rather tough and it might have been overcooked a little. For $18.80, you are better off paying a few dollars more for the cheaper sets at other restaurants like Ma Maison or Imakatsu.

The food court is pretty crowded on a Friday night as Clarke Quay is a pretty popular area to hang out at on Fridays. Hence, you may have some difficulties finding a seat during popular periods!
