Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert (Bedok)

The Hong Kong-style noodles and sauce here are on point, and the same can be said for the generously filled shrimp dumplings and wantons too. My only point of contention are the overly thick and lean pieces of unappealingly coloured char siew.

Standards seem to have dropped since the last time I paid a visit, for this carrot cake wasn’t fried and tasted quite dense. The saving grace was the punchy chilli sauce which I used for everything else we ordered.

A little stodgy but otherwise flavourful yam cake that works as a filling and affordable breakfast or lunch option.

Here this braised pork belly delivers a hearty meal and keeps your bellies full while waiting for that famous icey mango sago!
