Chee Kueh @ Punggol One Hawker Cai Po was sweet type, not very salty. The chee kueh itself was rather soft. Usually opens early before 8am, and closes before dinner time. 4 for $2 6 for $3 8 for $4

Nasi Kandar Fried Chicken with Herbs & Spices@$7.90 +$3.50 for additional chicken. Located within Punggol One Hawker Centre is the 2nd outlet of CoCo Rice, the popular main outlet is located at Tiong Bahru. Served with cabbages, salted Egg, lady fingers, etc. Generous amount of assam curry poured onto the nasi kandar, soaking it so every grain of rice is with assam gravy. Chicken looked so good, tasted good as well. Chicken was fried to a crisp, was so juicy and fresh. 4/5

OP Pork Katsu Ordered the pork katsu curry. Breadcrumbs were fried to perfection, not too greasy and pretty light tbh. Meat portion was also very reasonable for the price. The pork was tender and juicy and had a really good combination of lean meat and fat. Curry was also not too overwhelming, really complimented the rice and pork with each bite. Really a hidden gem.

Cheese Menchi Katsu Set Pork Katsu? Yes please. Molten cheese? Yummy. Molten cheese oozing out of pork katsu? Hell yeah! I've been besotted with Maruhachi's pork katsu don ever since trying them last year, and its Cheese Menchi Katsu, back by popular demand for a limited time (till 30th June), are veritably vivacious. The 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘂 𝗦𝗲𝘁 ($12.90) consisted of two large globes of minced pork fried to perfection, served with a side of salad with sesame dressing. Crunchy outside and succulent inside, the pork was impeccable. Slicing the globes apart, the cheese slowly oozed out, taking its time to make a grand entrance, like a movie star on the red carpet. The cheese's salty profile added depth to the pork's flavour. The refreshing salad also helped cut through the grease. I've said it before and I'll say it again. @maruhachi2020 is the best katsu don hawker stall in Singapore!

Affordable comfort food Favourite place to eat a piping hot, hearty bowl of comfort food. Have tried almost all dishes on the menu, and my go-tos are the sambal kang kong, chap chye, ngoh hiang and the diced chicken. Tried the mala chicken mix this time, was pretty good and not unbearably spicy. Would prefer if theres more of the needle mushroom though! Really like all their soups as well. A good place to have a quick, yummy and affordable meal with family.

Sesame Oil Chicken + Ngoh Hiang During circuit breaker and Sundays, this is my favourite grab food, food panda order. Cheap and good. The chicken have very generous amount and the gravy is so nice and compatible with white rice. Ngoh hiang is also quite large and is with lots of fillings.

Chicken Gumbo OG Version ($22) A hearty dish, the Chicken Gumbo OG Version is packed full of flavour. It has marinated chicken in a spice-perfumed broth loaded with sausages, potatoes and veggies. Served with sourdough bread that was crusty, chewy and nutty with slight tanginess, they went very well with the spices of the broth.

Sourdough heaven It’s a sourdough heaven! 11 kinds of sourdough to choose from, chocolate sourdough MUST try! Very nice ambient too. Definitely will come back again!

Chocolate Rye Raspberry Broffin with Sea Salt ($6.9++) During the work week my mind (sometimes) daydreams about the good thing(s) I ate over the weekend and the above appears this week repeatedly. On a slightly more laid back Saturday with mum, I was in awe as I forked mouthfuls of this delicious rye broffin. Only the best ingredients go into this squared sweet, think melted chocolate couverture, fresh raspberries and sea salt. Once frowning upon the prices of the sourdough loaves here when I first read about anna’s on social media, I am officially a converted patron of the sourdough produce. Sheepishly I tell mum we need to visit more often please. Especially when they serve accompanying gryphon tea blends which we find the most reliable teas in the market now.

Chilli Crab @$32 (600-700g) Ponggol Seafood has been around since 1969. It was originally located at punggol jetty back than in 1969 before leaving in the early 90s.It has since shifted back to its original location(actually 50m away) in 2014. Chilli Crab is one of their signature dishes. The Crab meat itself had a certain sweetness and it tasted so good. To be honest, I was not expecting much, so I was surprised how good this was. For only $32, promotional price, definitely worth it to get at this price.

Bamboo clams @ $10.80 each(Promo Price) Ponggol Seafood has been around since 1969. It was originally located at punggol jetty back than in 1969 before leaving in the early 90s.It has since shifted back to its original location(actually 50m away) in 2014. Bamboo clams are one of my favourite dishes at seafood restaurants, with the garlic and tanghoon, shallots etc etc, just the perfect combo. And it's also good here. Can order, since its on promo. Some of the restaurants I go to range from $12-$17 each

Sambal Kangkong@$10(Small) Ponggol Seafood has been around since 1969. It was originally located at punggol jetty back than in 1969 before leaving in the early 90s.It has since shifted back to its original location(actually 50m away) in 2014. Thr Sambal kangkong was rather expensive, at $10. This was ok, I did prefer my kangkong with more pork lard and Hae Bi.

Prawn & Lobster Roll Well, for the rather low price, I couldn't verify there's actual lobster. It also came across as kids food. But I must say the roll was quite delicious.

Nashville Hot Chicken with Rice The chicken was fried excellently, its marinade yummy, and the dirty rice was interesting. The big boo-boo was the portion. Machiam for kids.
