Pork Katsu? Yes please. Molten cheese? Yummy. Molten cheese oozing out of pork katsu? Hell yeah! I've been besotted with Maruhachi's pork katsu don ever since trying them last year, and its Cheese Menchi Katsu, back by popular demand for a limited time (till 30th June), are veritably vivacious.

The 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘂 𝗦𝗲𝘁 ($12.90) consisted of two large globes of minced pork fried to perfection, served with a side of salad with sesame dressing. Crunchy outside and succulent inside, the pork was impeccable.

Slicing the globes apart, the cheese slowly oozed out, taking its time to make a grand entrance, like a movie star on the red carpet. The cheese's salty profile added depth to the pork's flavour. The refreshing salad also helped cut through the grease.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. @maruhachi2020 is the best katsu don hawker stall in Singapore!
