Parked by the market food court, Mustaffa's truck is a familar sighting to all of Section 17. Burpplers working nearby, zero in on this sunny afternoon stopover for rojak and cendol. Blanketed in a delicious, nutty gravy, the Rojak (from 4.50) replete with crunchy chopped fritters, hard-boiled egg and julienned cucumbers, make a great teatime snack to share. Otherwise, its mid-sized portion also passes it off as a decent light lunch. Whether you're having your bite to go or savouring it on the spot, don't forget to get an order of Cendol (from RM1.20) too! The small bowlful of plump green cendol jelly and shaved ice steeped in coconut milk and palm sugar nails a delightfully refreshing level of sweetness.
Avg price per person: RM5

Try as they may, businesses operating out of shops can't replicate the authenticity of both taste and experience of a road side cendol truck.

Ali Cendol is not without a loyal following. It has parked here (with its partner in roadside crime, Rojak Mustaffa) next to the Seksyen 17 Market for as long as any local can remember. The cendol was very good, the cendol itself had great texture, had a good balance of coconut milk and gula melaka, and it was not too sweet.

Small RM2.00; Large RM2.50; + pulut (glutinous rice) for RM0.50

If I had to nitpick, I'd say I found it ever so slightly watery. Another comment by my friend was: "Who the heck puts cincau in cendol? Don't try to be pretentious." πŸ˜‚

It's difficult when all cendols are compared to the one in SS15 Subang Jaya. But hey, if I'm in the Seksyen 17 area - I'd still come back. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Located on the side of the road and operating out of two vans parked side by side, this place makes for a rustic, simple dining experience. After a plate of mamak-style rojak, head to the van beside for a refreshing and welcoming bowl of cendol. What makes the cendol so good is the generous portion of ingredients, and their finely shaved ice. A perfect treat on a scorching day!

Best cendol in town.
