Qing Carrot Cake 慶菜頭粿 (Old Airport Road)

Tough choice between white & black. Would have liked to have a bit more chai poh (preserved radish).

The generous crunchy bits, eggs, adequately salted turnips, sweet sauce and sambal chilli made this popiah a delicious treat! What stood out for me was the hard and almost crunchy skin, which added a different texture to the dish!

The aunties are really nice as well, love buying from them 😇

Warm stewed turnip, beansprouts diced hardboiled egg, peanuts and bits of crispy garlic wrapped firmly in crepe thin popiah skin. No frills, but so hearty and satisfying.

hands down the best popiah (01-156) and cheecheongfun (can't remember which store but it's one or two stores from the popiah one) everrrrrrrr!!!! so cheap also hehe hawker food never gets old :- )
