Polar Puffs & Cakes (Mount Alvernia Hospital)

Was delighted to see this make a comeback recently. A light sponge topped with buttercream, pipings of coloured jam and nuts, the Old Polar was perhaps my favourite cake - until prices rose from $18 to 23 to $41 (and now only available online), and became too steep for my occasional self-indulgent treat.

I loved the sugary buttercream so much I bought 3 of these. I hope this becomes a permanent item.
