The Google maps reviews are accurate. Sad portion & doesn't even taste good. The soup is on the mild side, which I don't mind, but this was just so much rice... Like, 70% of it was rice. I didn't finish it. That's how bad it was.
& this cost $7.50. Ew.
Pin Yuan (品源) is a stall in Maxwell Food Centre (#01-22) selling fish soup, ban mian and pao fan.
Low key mind-blown when I tried the Prawn Paste Pao Fan / Noodle ($7.30) - the golden soup is thoroughly infused with the richness of seafood and full of umami. The crunchy prawn paste tastes like the kind served in hotpot restaurants and it also comes with a generous serving of clams, Chinese cabbage and a sprinkle of fried rice puffs. I usually order yi mian or ban mian for the noodles and it is sooo satisfying. Love this!
