Located within the George Town area, there’s this popular economic rice stall that sell yam rice to pair with the dishes you get.

Sin Chew Yam Rice 新洲芋頭飯 open from early morning till lunch time on most days. Here is just like our usual cai fang stall where you get the dishes you want to complete your meal with their delicious yam rice.

Don’t miss out getting their soup also.

Today I would like to introduce another popular food place in George Town among the locals, Kim Maou Cafe at Kampung Malabar serves some decent wok hey Chinese dishes.

Their char hor fun is one of their popular dishes here. Fragrant and poured with thick gravy. Accompanied by egg, shrimp and pork slices.

Looking for a very unique and traditional coffee in George Town, Penang? Then you should try this place along Noordin Street.

Starbright Coffee is prepared by this auntie at this corner shop, which her signature star mark on the top of your cup of coffee.

It is definitely taste sweeter here and you could actually mix it for something special such as with Milo or tea.

The coffee shop here also sell traditional toast like kaya butter to pair with your coffee in the morning.

Looking for smooth porridge at George Town, Penang?

This well-know porridge place among the locals located along Cintra Street, popular for their fish and chicken porridge.

Their juicy chicken meat are sliced nicely and get it well with the porridge texture.

Also known as Indian rojak, this dish can be commonly found in Penang.

While many tourists would try it at Gurney Drive Hawker Centre, there’s also some popular stalls that locals like to visit.

Particularly this roadside stall at Beach Street, located along Union Street. Kareem Pasembur has been selling for many years, catering to those who working around.

Firstly you need to choose some of the fried items to go with. Many people would recommend you the prawn fritter.

Then they will cut them into pieces and topped with sweet chili sauce and some veggie.

This food truck is one of them you can find behind GAMA Department Store, just beside KOMTAR.

Many locals would drop by here to grab a bowl of warm dessert, which they called it bubur, porridge in English. But it is definitely not the porridge you would imagine.

Ali Bubur served only a few types of porridge dessert including this pulut hitam, which is the black glutinous rice you would familiar with.

Sweet and comforting dessert you can find from Ali Bubur. Add a scoop of glutinous rice like mine to complete it.
