In my defence, I ordered the smallest portion possible hor. But you know what, this supposedly small and glorious plate of fried rice with perfect wok hei in rich, luscious gravy of diced chicken, prawn and HK kai lan can feed four people lor. Still, the comfort of each mouthful is real. Ok, that's all.
Three thick slices of happiness â slow-braised deep-fried pork belly in a heady concoction of five slice powder, dark soy sauce, garlic and a dash of shaoxing wine for depth. A good kong bak is when the fat melds seamlessly with the meat. What a joy. Ok, that's all.
But these delightful bulbs of cherry tomatoes are quite something. The subtle honeyed flavour of the fruit is heightened by soaking them in a light sugared broth possibly perfumed with plum wine. Each piece bursts beautifully in your mouth as you sink your teeth into them. I finished them all of course. Ok, that's all.
Luscious, heavy and fulfilment with every bite. Befitting of a man's status in the family. Here's wishing a Happy Father's day to all the wonderful, strong and loving men of the world. â¤đŞđđâ #happyfathersday #love #sgeats #supportlocal
