Hidden in Food Republic @ Shaw Centre, Omurice Factory serves decent omurice at an affordable price.

There is some small bits of chicken in the tomato flavored rice. The sauce was slightly salty but went well with the rice. At an additional $3.90, toppings such as fried chicken cutlet can be added to the omurice.

Note📝: There is a seating area for Japan Foods Garden Customers only, so don’t worry if you can’t find a place in Food Republic

Food Republic @ Shaw House upped the food court game by having a designated corner of Japanese food stalls.

The first stall I tried was Omurice Factory as the food models at the stall front were just so enticing. Instead of the signature demiglas and the seductive curry, I chose to have white cream omurice ($8.90).

There are 3 toppings to choose from for additional of $3.90: pork cutlet, fried prawns and chicken cutlet. If you are interested, add melted cheese for just $1.90. Big eaters can include everything! 😄

This plate of Omurice was above my expectation for food court standard and its price. 👍 Reasons being, the portion was really huge, pork cutlet was thick albeit slightly dry and the omelette's doneness was on spot - it was still a little wet and wobbling.

But I was a little sad that there was no ketchup at the stall to let my draw a heart on my omurice. 😔 And usually omurice uses fried rice but Omurice Factory uses plain rice.

Prices starting from $8.90, you can choose the number of eggs, a regular omurice has 2 eggs, if you would like more eggs, top up $1 more per egg. You can also choose toppings like pork cutlet or fried shrimp at $3.90 or melted cheese at $1.90. The same toppings are available for their curry rice as well!

That Demiglace sauce is quite something. How is it so heavily flavourful while still showing light notes of vegetables?

Delighted to spot this special Japanese corner. But price not much different with other restaurants, plain omu rice without meat start at ($8.90). May give other shops a try soon... #sgfoodcourt #foodsg #burpple #igsg
