Old Chang Kee (Bugis Junction)

($3) the recommended flavour is kit kat based on their online ordering. tbh they overburned their waffles lol to be kuek. but the kit kat flavour is a bit not that fresh.

($2.80) I just happened to walk from lunch to see old chang kee at nlb bugis lol. I waited at least 20 mins bc in front of 2 ppl ahead of me. I felt that the waffles was slightly overcooked and got kuek texture tbh. The filling I was quite impressed with the efforts that the staff put in. 👍 the kaya filling was quite sweet and got green paste.

Attracted by Maoshanwang but it was quite disappointing. $3.30 for 1, $6 for 2. The crust is mildly buttery and crispy but the durian filling within was quite little. The durian paste is warm, has a mild sweetness of the msw but lacks the richness of a good msw.

From 25th January to 31 March 2016, these Spicy 'Os will be sold for 1 at $1.80, 2 for $3 at Old Chang Kee. Fillings are exactly the same but yes, you got it right, this is the extra spicy version, both the skin and fillings! I honestly thought it was a marketing gimmick - how spicy can it get? But my oh my, hahaha, just a few bites and I felt the numbness. I love spicy food and this wasn't the unbearable kind of heat but so shiok! This is for all you chili and spicy lovers out there.
