An affordable, no-frills and simple meal in town. This YTF stall located at the highest level in Lucky Plaza is famous for its fried meatballs and braised Korean mushrooms. I ordered mine in soup with sweet and clean broth along with a bowl of fried ingredients separated from my bowl of soup. The meatball is crispy and crunchy on the outside, filled with moist and tender minced pork inside. The mushrooms are plump, chewy and juicy.
7 Pcs w/o Noodle or Rice γ$5.60
Price increases but what to do. The soup is still good, as is the Signatures of shitake mushrooms and meatballs. Think the meatballs has an additional cost to it as this bowl plus hot Milo costs $8.50 (unless a cup of hot Milo costs $2.20). Meatballs would have been better if heated up in the oven for a crunch.
After reading so many nice reviews about it, I had to try it for myself. Ordered quite a few of the famous meatballs as everyone is raving about it. Perhaps I have set too high of an expectation, the meatballs are not as good as I have expected. It was slightly hard and dry. I know at least two other ytf places with better meatballs than these. Apart from that, I do like the soup. The natural sweetness from the soybeans made the soup light and tasty.
The meatballs are sooo nice, taste a bit like chicken floss if you ask meπ
Especially loved the meatballs! The meatballs had crispy exterior while the meat inside was soft and tender. The other ingredients like fishcake and their signature mushroom was good as well! I had the dry noodles which went very well with the chili and a little soup. Queue is rather long during lunch hour but food was worth the wait.
