Unagi was quite thick and egg was surprisingly savoury, the parts that isnt doused in sauce was actl almost entirely savoury. But ofc the part doused in the sweet sauce was more sweet

I heard theres a very cheeky name for this Don, when you swop out beef for chicken in an oyakodon, which is tannindon. Literally means stranger Don, since egg and beef are unrelated, as compared to oyako which means parents and child
This was brilliant. The beef was good but not perfect, it's got a bit of bite, however the egg complemented the slight bite perfectly, giving it volume and making everything more tender. On top of that, the mentaiko added umami and the fishiness is subdued by the fluffy eggs
Absolutely delicious, must try if you're in the area.
