The weather was mad hot and it was thus no surprise at all that almost everyone had these 1-litre drinks in their hands! The Thai Milk Tea itself was pretty decent without being too sweet, but we would really liked to have less ice cubes.

Fried carrot cake in Artbox?! U must be kidding me?! How can it be nice at such a hipster place... But surprisingly, this is not bad! Carrot cubes are soft and dense but light. $6 for an almost 3/4 filled plastic bowl. Would buy again the next time!

Gryphon Tea Mocktail
Rose Sauvage - $10

The cold brewed Pearl of the Orient sparkling tea is served with Moroccan rose, lychee fruit and fresh mint. Super refreshing especially in Singapore where the weather gets so hot and humid. I was partly attracted by the reusable tumblr with LED lights to be honest, but Iām not the only one as other Art Box visitors came asking me where I bought that drink. Hopefully the next round of Art Box I will have the chance to grab a few more cups of these thirst quencher

The queueing was š© but the experience was definitely āŗļø
.
Had the Bacon & Carrot ($7) from Carrot Cubes and I absolutely loved the play of textures. My friend loved it and practically finished half of the bowl. Super friend staff as well, kudos to them!!
.
Next up, there was the Fried Pork Belly ($5) from Soi Thai Soi Nice! I was crazy over the sauce over the pork belly! Some parts of the pork belly were quite chewy, well other parts were perfectly crisp and tender š¤¤
.
The Wicked Cream never fail to amaze with their gourmet marshmallows ($4). My friend couldnāt resist splurging once she knew the store was at Artbox!
.
If you love less sweetened milk tea, then you will LOVE the 1 litre Thai Milk Tea ($4) from 555 Thai Tea. Super long queues throughout the day and even most of the other stall owners had a cup of this in their stores.
.
I was pleasantly surprised by #goshot 24k Ice Cream ($5.90) which I was the most refreshing thing Iāve had. Itās not the creamy ice cream but more of the icy kind and under the HOT weather yesterday, it was one of my favorites of the day.
.
Cafe3byJW: when your food is on top of your drink ($13.80) šÆ I would say their order method is super efficient and it was nice to have snacks and a drink to share with my friends. I LOVE soda drinks so Blue Paradise was really thirst quenching in the heat.
.
omg what can I say??? the butterfly pea drink ($4) was MY FAVOURITE drink at a carnival EVERRRR it had a fragrantly sweet taste and i was BEGGING for more by the end and sipped every last bit of it š¤¤ PLEASE PLEASE SERVE THIS EVERYTIME š©
.
The Swag Socialās combo ($16) is quite worth, with fries, a dripbag and beef cubes. The fries were crisp and the beef cubes were rather unevenly cooked, some chewy parts and some undercooked parts but overall the seasoning was good. The dripbag had my friends fighting and squabbling over it but I totally didnāt get how to operate it ;-;
.
So looking forward to Artbox 2019 next year!!
I was searching high and low for this Ondeh Ondeh pancake that i saw from a few youtube food reviews.. Went Geylang Bazaar but missed my chance and specially went to Artbox today after long consideration, knowing that itās gonna be hella packed today. Indeed was Mountain sea mountain people...The traditional pancakes (10 for $5) were slabbed with 2 thick slices of butter, drowned with maple syrup and coated with icing sugar. My pancakes were completely drenched with sugar, it will give you diabetes. My long awaited Ondeh Ondeh pancakes that i was so excited for, was worse as thereās gula melaka. omgš maybe.. maybe if itās jus the pancake - DRY, it would be nice.. ā¹ļø
So what did the event really mean to us?
Without having to travel to BKK, the merchandises here probably appealed to the young but not us. Lots of stuff for impulse buyers perhaps.
Most food (though not all) and drinks were highly priced, some just simple items but packaged with lights and colours to hype it up. Got to mention that some food were quite tasty, our favourite Thai pork skewers especially.
Commercialised it may be, but Artbox is still be an event we would still visit. Simply bācos there just isnāt enough of such entertainment for the deprived SG. Higher price will just be the premium we have to pay for, which weāre already used to it anyway right?
Having said that, our tips to enjoy Artbox?
1. Travel light. Wear comfortable thin clothing. Anyway, really canāt understand those who brought their pet dogs to the event, having to walk over the wet floor and stressed out by the crowd.
2. Avoid peak periods. After 9pm was a good time for us, before most stalls close and when there were lesser crowd.
3. Save the last for less. Towards the last hour of the event, most food and drinks (and some merchandise) would lelong to clear stock. It was almost unimaginable when 2 slides for $12 could go for $2. A good deal to try some of those stuff you previously werenāt so sure about paying for.
Without much expectation, going to Artbox could just be an enjoyable weekend program to break away from the SG routine.
