my way of "atas"
that day at luke's with some of the freshest shucked oysters swimming in their own clear liquor ($98 / dozen).
.
but i heart my 400g usda prime rib eye ($99) more - served naked with nothing but just garlic confit. beneath the charred exterior was an exemplary medium rare revealing the lucious porn pink inside.
when your bird nest is sprinkled in gold. but it was that globule of coconut ice cream on mango custard that stole the show.
how to be poorer and happy at the same time - this bowl. A4 wagyu with truffle caviar, uni and pan-seared foie gras in garlic fried rice. thought the onsen egg is a texture overkill to otherwise this perfect bowl of pure indulgence. that said, this uber rich bowl is still wow.. unforgettable!
yesterday birthday dinner situation at hasida garo - unagi ippon. flavorsome three generous fatty unagi in bento box with rice to complete your meal before the much talked about desserts. after all it says a place where desserts meet art right
thinking of prized jamon. throwback to last #burppletastemaker session at @mylittlespanishplace. while embutidos fermĂn of salamanca is already worthy of mention here, had the opportunity to be up close and personal with the king of cured meats, joselito. what a honor!
missing the perfectly cooked mediterranean sea bass on bed of hummus i had on friday
nobody leaves db without their burger
why stop at normal french onion soup they say. lo and behold, i present you the legendary db bistro onion & beef consommé. beneath this savory bed of melted buttery salty gruyère is the most flavorful and sweetest beef based onion soup to contrast divinely with the cheese. so glad there are the eager croutons in the soup to help soak up the heavenly stock. but i bet you need more from the complimentary bread basket to sponge up every single drop!
paglia e fieno taglierini with hand chopped lamb ragout & shaved pecorino cheese ($26).. ermm also the most refined "炸酱面” you can ever find.
because i heard theres a new protein in town - kangaroo. nicely executed culinary efforts to mask the "gameier" fillet (imho) with good smokiness, vinegar jus and sweet roasted baby onions. joey came with a comfortable smooth chewy texture in between bites. totally love the addition of pine nuts which lends a nutty flavor and much needed crunch to the dish!
anatomy of legendary db burger in full glory - epic ball patty of medium rare sirloin burger wrapped with red wine infused braised short ribs and a block of foie gras on a parmesan bun. is all in the craft and the incredible quality of ingredients in this burger i tell you.
knowing how the koreans love their beefs, figured fat cow is THE most befitting place to continue talk shop over dinner at one of our island's best beef game. innocent namesake enough but fat cow is definitely upscale and dine to impress. my 180g medium rare wagyu flatiron ($58) from down under, while a tad shy of other premium japanese A4 or A5 cuts the restaurant has to offer, was already insanely orgasmic good. first mouth and i was blown away - that alluring pink hue and that perfectly executed grilled smokiness that made the already very flavorful cut even more pronounced. dont belittle that diced tomato by the side, is equally charmingly marinated sweet and resets my whole palette in anticipation for the next heavenly slice. that ponzu ginger sesame dip? o fat cow, you really don't have to.

happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to have coffee.
