New to ABC brickwork, open for about a few weeks now, their kongbapeng (braised pork rice bowl) and duckpeng (braised duck breast rice bowl) was flavourfully braised with mild herb and tender to the bite. Fluffy and fragrant pearl rice added texture and was delightful with every mouthful. Addition of pickled sour salty vegetable and crispy wanton skin gave the dish layers of flavours, cutting the richness of the meat and also different textures. Their special chili sauce was also a highlight for me, aromatics blended within the chili and the hint of vinegar reminded me fondly of Thai style chili sauce which is commonly eaten with Thai braised pork trotters.
Ordered the special beef pho, flavourful broth with generous ingredients. Love the blend of refreshing herbs, hoisin sauce and chili. Nicely cooked beef shank! Definitely will be back for more and to try their banh mi.
Prepare to wait during meal times as there’s a queue.
Repeat customer. Always coming back for the blueberry crumble and speculoos ice cream.
Well balanced, not overly sweet. Thoughtful that the speculoos biscuits are added into the ice cream before scooping and topped on top of the ice cream for freshness and crunch.
Pricing reasonable considering rental and overheads nowadays. $4+ for a scoop of premium ice cream.
They have other items on their menu also, waffles and finger food which I have yet to try. There’s also coffee, tea and sodas.
Nice cosy place to hide from the scorching sun.
Repeated visit for their BBQ dishes. Would usually order their leather jacket grilled fish and their stir fry Kai Lan.
Love that dried shrimps are added in the stir fry Kai Lan elevating that umami-ness.
Ordered their sambal sotong - excellent doneness; sotong not overly cooked, nice bite to it.
Love their chinchalok which compliments the sambal seafood.
Not too crowded on a Tuesday night. Ordered the chocolate ice cream cone with milk mochi, chocolate sticks and almond thins.
Chocolate ice cream had a good balance of cocoa, milk and cream. Love the milk mochi.
First time here - food was good in general. Ordered the mezze platter (warm pita bread wedges with dips: hummus, beetroot, tzatziki and spicy capsicum) with falafel and fried feta balls which was decent. Falafel was on the dry side.
The pumpkin salad had a good variety of ingredients: mesclun salad, avocado, grilled pumpkin wedges, cherry tomatoes, feta slices and brown Swiss mushrooms.
The pasta sauce was delightful and penne pasta cooked al dente! First time trying vegetarian pasta with such flavours.
As usual, ordered my regular - nai lai chicken cutlet (curry like Thai spiced sauce), the seafood tang hoon and salt&pepper beancurd sticks.
Additionally, ordered chili crab + fried man tou, salted egg prawns (deshelled) and fried ginger frog legs as had friends from Australia stopover in Singapore who wanted to try Singapore food.
This dining place style is more Hong Kong style adopted Singapore flavours which my partner and I frequent.
The chili crab had a slightly spicy punch to it which I love and nice egg dropped sauce which soaked up nicely with fried man tou. They served fried big sliced man tou instead of small man tou but no biggies.
The fried ginger frog legs flavourful and crispy, good as a beer snack.
The salted egg prawns was decent, nothing much to shout out for.
Always a fan of their affordable big portioned western food.
Had their pork chop and fish&chips (added a pork sausage) this time.
Both protein was juicy and flavourful. The fried fish had crispy exterior and juicy inside.
The coleslaw, baked beans and fries complimented their protein. Despite huge servings, my dining partner and myself couldn’t stop eating and finished the food.
Their pork sausage was huge for the price and tasty.
All in all, value for money and nice flavours!
Superb noodles with powerpac flavours with good amount of wok hei and pork lard.
The KL dai lok mee - excellent flavourful sauce glistening in the sunlight which keeps you wanting more with crispy homemade pork lard in every bite. Heart attacking inducing but YOLO!
The dry mee tai mak - sufficiently moist with flavourful sauce.
The yuan yang hor fun - soul food with fried crispy noodles as toppings. Flavours more subtle than the KL dai lok mee and dry mee tai mak; my kind of comfort food on a cold day.
Prawns used are of decent size and not chemical soaked prawns. Prices very reasonable at $5-6 per plate.
Love that they have a beeper system instead of having to wait in line for your food.

Ice cream palour which opens till late 2AM. Ordered chocolate mint as I was feeling nostalgic. Regular tasting ice cream with cone, good option if you’re craving for ice cream late in the night.
Explored this new place as it’s newly revamped. Was attracted to try out this place as the live band was playing Chinese songs on a Saturday night.
Ordered Kwirk draft beer tower as have not heard of this beer brand before. Beer was light and refreshing.
Got hungry and ordered the flat iron steak (medium rare), calamari and homemade prawn balls.
The flat iron steak topped with chimichurri sauce was well executed - steak was rest well before serving hence juicy and perfect doneness! The steak also came with crunky mashed potatoes and salad.
The calamari was decent with special mention of the sauce as chopped relish was added in the tar tar sauce to heighten the sauce.
Decent homemade prawn balls had Thai herbs added which enhanced the flavours. Also like the texture of the prawn balls as there will chunky pieces of prawns however tad slightly for my liking.
Connor’s draught was available - love it!
Definitely will be back for their live band, ambience, drinks and steak!
