One of my favourite spots for dinner because the dishes have such a homey feeling to them! This is the premium set (RM42) which has tempura, salmon sashimi, and unagi, but most of their set meals are between RM20-30 and coke with rice, miso soup, pickles, and fruit.
They also have sushi, okonomiyaki, curry rice, etc.
Tried their special menu (about RM150 for 5 courses + dessert) and it was interesting. Everything is served in individual portions instead of sharing plates, and portion sizes quite generous as well - we were stuffed!
Most original courses would be:
- cold platter (the thing on the right is a prawn & cheese ball with crispy coating, totally unexpected but delicious)
- prawns wrapped in lotus leaves and baked in salt (not bad but I don’t understand the need for sauce)
I also really liked the dessert which was a mango puree with mango bits & sago; more like a drink and hence easier to finish!
I’ve been here twice and have been happy each time. Service is pretty fast (though oddly enough, they serve the dessert the before the mains the first time I was here), the portion sizes are huge and it tastes pretty good. The menu focuses on Taiwanese and Japanese food. Price-wise, it’s a bit more expensive than say, Let’s Eat (in the nearby district) but the prices are not unreasonable, less than RM30 for most main dishes.
