Ordered curry fish head which I wished they boiled longer before serving because the vege were not fully cooked and the taupok had not soaked in the curry. Curry felt diluted until the end when it was more boiled down. Quite a disappointment cuz most tables ordered it.
Also ordered half a white chicken and deep fried fritters to share which were ok. Oily rice was not bad but white rice was a little hard which was ok after pouring curry over. Total bill was around $55 for 3.

Guo Fu hotpot reopened at Guoco tower with a very nice dining experience but higher prices. Lunch is $33.90++, weekday dinner is $36.90++ and weekend dinner is $39.90++ for classic buffet which does not include individual pot soup base (+$6.90++ or $9.90++ for yuanyang) and drinks. This can easily add up to more than 50 or 60 bucks per pax. Even though variety and xiaolongbao are good, it is a bit pricey and can be more ex than eating at HDL or BIAP. Can try once for experience

$3.60 for French toast, no ++ here as ordering is done at the kiosk before entering and food is self service. Toast was sinful but soooo good (guess that’s where their name comes from 😂). A good place to come for fuss free dim sum or breakfast.

This mala shop is famous for its deep fried lotus / potato / fish and scrambled eggs. Can weigh quite heavy if ordering lotus / potato. Good for sharing. Can be quite spicy but they have kindly provided tissue boxes at the tables. Wait might be long during peak periods.
Cost $13.16 due to heavy lotus root which shrunk when fried 🥲 must try!

All my fav dishes pictured!!
Original Sheng Jian Bao 生煎包 x3 / Xiao Long Bao 小笼包 x4 $5.80+ each
Pan-fried scallion pancake 葱油手抓饼 $4.80+
Dried noodles with scallion 葱油面 $6.80+
Also liked their Sichuan spicy chicken noodles 口水鸡面
Pork chop was a little too hard when I last tried it (too much bones and too little meat).
Used to be self collection without ++ but now there’s GST charge.

Hidden dim sum place run by ex-convicts which is nice and affordable! Might see a little queue during lunch time on weekdays but queue moves fast.
Was introduced to this by my colleague and am back for the third time! Spent around $15/pax for 3
Love the variety from dim sum to mains eg curry chicken / sesame chicken / nasi lemak
Egg tarts can be sold out so do ask them to check when you’re ordering.

Perfect for a rainy day but we had to queue around 15 mins on a Friday night.
Mee sua $6/7
Salted chicken 盐酥鸡 $7
Marinated cucumber $4
Simple and no frills meal :-)

This place has super long queue on Fri nights as it opens until v late and has a huge variety of Chinese food from Tze char to skewers.
I love their tomato egg esp. My second time dining in and this time round they did not spam too much seasoning thankfully.
Service is fast and price is reasonable.
Spent around $18 each

Soup base wasn’t super fantastic and I felt that the lamb slices were rather gamey even though my fam thought that it was ok
Meat slices were cut too thin to our preference
We ordered more meat platters after that and realised they offered 1 free small plate of lamb rolls for birthday month
Spent >$200 for 5 pax

LOOOVE the Peking duck omg 😍 so good with vvv crispy skin!! They will slice the skin at your table and the leftover meat can be used to cook noodles or fried rice. Super good, 3 of us had no problem finishing it :-) however the other dishes didn’t impress me as much
Best to pre-order the duck to avoid disappointment.
