Coffee/Cafes☕️
They no longer sell bagels but the burpple still says they do; travelled all the way down and was disappointed. Do take note if you plan to head down, they only do the box of six now.
Got a little lost trying to find this place, do note to use lift lobby A in the mall to get to level 7!
This is a quaint coffee/tea place to get a good cuppa and chill, situated next to Trehaus school. Really affordable drinks here tbh. Will be back☺️
Tried the firebird, BEC sandwiches — best in SG!!!! Super friendly staff, chill vibes. Go there, have a good sandwich and coffee, and let go of all the stress~~~
Conveniently located at the heart of Hougang Town, this sidewalk sandwich shack is still an underrated gem. Starring 3 sandwiches on its menu (chicken, fish, beef), they do it very well. Love the sandwich combination! Would love to go back again.
Meant to bring a slice of Australia into sunny SG, expect to find a wholesome menu featuring plenty of aus-sourced goods. We got the beef sandwich ($27) and avo toast ($18). The beef sandwich was smaller than we expected, but cooked to a perfect medium rare. Sourdough was rather tasteless, not sure if they source it or make their own. The avo toast was super delicious though, with generous portions. Didn’t get to try their coffee, which they source from popular aussie roastery Proud Mary Coffee Roasters.
As this place is still very new (dog-friendly, too!), do expect a crowd, esp on weekends. There’s already a pretty efficient queue system established. We waited for about 45 mins on a Sun morning, and waited another 20 mins for the food. All in all, not too bad!
The best thing in this bagel can’t even be seen, that is the sage feta!!
It’s great to explore new bagel flavours every time😛
It’s been a few years since my last visit here and I’m glad that some things don’t change (‘: the hotcakes are still super fluffy!! Comes with vanilla bean ice cream, berry compote, fruits and seeds☺️
Pro tip: order this first! It takes 30-40 mins to prepare so you can enjoy your mains first and it comes right in time as a dessert.
Look at those gorgeous eggs🍳 they do a pretty good cold brew too!
In picture: halibut burger, beef schnitzel! First time seeing these dishes and they did not disappoint. The beef schnitzel was cooked medium and had a crisp exterior without tasting overly oily. The sweet potato fries were a great pairing with the fish burger! 10/10 will visit again :D
My first visit here and it was much better than I expected☺️ prices are really decent for the quality. In picture: Chicken Parmigiana and DIY breakfast, Barista’s Breakfast (a latte and espresso with their Paradise blend). Enjoyed the food there and really great service too!
A new place to find great French pastries and desserts! The croissants were beautifully laminated and stuffed crisp with various fillings. Our go-tos are the chocolate pistachio, hummus with veggies. The tarts are yummy too! Pretty reasonable prices and a really great ambience for a chill-out with loved ones☺️
Honestly, the mains felt like something anyone could’ve put together at home. Paying $24.50 for a few shaves of truffle, or pieces of smoked salmon is terribly overpriced. The smoked salmon only came as 1 piece…which is ?!?!?! Even with Burpple, this wasn’t worth the cost. Coffee was good though.
Do note that there’s a 90 mins dining limit which they’re quite strict about too!
