Light Snacks
HUGE & CRISPY AF beer-battered onion rings served with scallion sour cream! if you’re someone like me who dunks her sides & runs out of sauce easily, there’s always their free-flow sauces on the side✌🏼
loved the delicious whole grain barley & seaweed miso atop the warm, silky tofu
limited time special!! my fav tempura item from Idaten Udon is their jumbo veg kakiage. this is badically it but topped with sakura ebi🦐
I thought I could get the same satisfaction from pasar malam takoyaki but MAN THESE HIT DIFFERENT. SO DAMN GOOD GENEROUS MENTAIKO AND THERE WERE MILD CHEESE PULLS URGH
if I had to nitpick the octopus was kinda tough but I’d still totally order these overpriced huge morsels of happiness
though a nice snack, they were quite small as compared to Carl’s Jr. ‘s, which were much bigger & crisp
THESE WERE GOOD
they came out freshly fried so they were piping hot! the sweet potato balls were chewy with a crisp exterior and encassed a creamy sweet potato filling! the batter part could be less dry though. these were $3.90 for 10 so it’s really worth it get it before it’s gone!!
Chicken Pie 🥧
Buttery shell encasing massive chunks of yummy chicken!!
Most come for their single-serve pizzas but if that’s still too much, go for their
CRAZY BREAD ($3)
Dressed in garlic butter & dusted with parmesan cheese, it’s literally pizza (in the form of breadsticks🥖) when paired with their signature Crazy Sauce - a delicious garlic marinara dip.
My only complaint is that the cold🥴 sauce could have been served warm instead.
But at such a ~crazy~ low price for 4, I see it as an absolute win!
The dark horse behind Ya Kun, or rather, as quoted from what Ya Kun themselves told me, their “best kept secret”.
KAYA BUTTER CRACKERS ($2)
It’s as no frills as it gets - sweet kaya & slabs of lightly salted butter sandwiched between savoury cream crackers. A heritage delight that has been enjoyed in its simplicity since the 80s.
