New to the neighbourhood! Finally a grilled fish place that accepts reservations (fairly last minute ones too :p) and doesnāt require all parties to be present to be seated. Each fish is priced at $46.80 before add ons and interestingly the green pepper fish comes in a fish broth (rather than your usual gravy) - makes it slightly less oily. Overall would definitely visit again esp when craving grilled fish nearby :p
Iām quite picky about my fried food intake but every calorie counts in this dish šš» the chicken skin is crispy, seasoning is flavourful and light and the fried rice goes perfectly with it. I donāt indulge in this often but whenever I do I 100% do not regret it
Small restaurant but ample space between tables. Fish was fresh and the sushi rice was unconventional š¬
Finally made it to Eggslut! Had to try the classic, the Fairfax. Defo a generous serving of brioche bun plus scrambled eggs but I wonder how it wouldāve been with a slab of meat too š
With so many cafes along the same street this cafe could be easily missed. We decided to visit as queues elsewhere were too long, but definitely did not regret this decision. Food came quickly after order; good sized portions and fulfilled our brunch cravings. Def comfort food on a rainy day.
Iāve seen many pictures of the Hillview cafe but have not been able to visit. So I was excited to learn that theyād be opening a new branch in the east! Even if you donāt live nearby itās fine, the cafe is in Lifelong Learning Institute which is behind PLS which is behind the MRT. Chose an interesting dish to try - the Chicken Quinoa - which I thought would come out looking like a salad but it tasted more like a healthy spin on chicken rice which was a nice surprise :P the chicken was tender and not dry at all. Regrettably could not try their coffee today but itāll be on my list the next time I visit
Wanted to rest my legs for a bit and grab a quick drink. This was one of the cafes in the area that was still open at 5pm. The cafe is small but the seats are spaced apart nicely. The coffee I had was strong and gave the boost I needed.
Walked by and decided to try it because it looked cute. 4 flavours of ice cream to choose from with 2 toppings. Went for classic vanilla which did not fail! I would think this would be good for sharing. Seems a bit much to finish alone esp if after a full meal before
On Google maps it appears to be in an ulu location - in the midst of the industrial estate - in reality itās smack in the middle of the PCN linking Paya Lebar to Eunos, and easily accessible. Menu has a decent variety - rice bowls, mains, crossaints. Pictured is the pork rice bowl, simple but tastefully done. Worth it for 12.50. Coffee (flat white) was strong and pleasant too
Great Sichuan food in a cozy setting. Extensive menu with a variety of dishes to choose from. At one point we wondered if itād be too much spice and chilli oil for our liking, but nope, every dish somehow tasted different and unique. Do not miss out on the garoupa (pic above) - get the large portion for sharing! Wonāt regret it
2nd attempt at visiting this place (1st was on a weekend and the waiting time was an hour!) - got an indoor seat after 15 minutes. The place was bright and airy, seats were well spaced. Food came promptly and was good. Enjoyed the salted caramel banana waffles. Overall an enjoyable experience!
Came to La Fez by chance as a certain cafe nearby was too crowded. Ordered the shakshouka as it was raved about on online reviews. It did not disappoint! The broth was not as thick as others Iāve tried, however it was flavourful and not jelat despite being a fairly large portion. One gripe though was that they couldāve been more generous with the bread that it came served with. Otherwise the cakes looked pretty good too and would come to try it next time
