A trip to the Dunman Food Centre doesn’t seem complete without trying the famous Dunman Road Char Siew Wanton Mee. The noodles they served were much thicker than the usual egg noodles we see in other wanton mee stalls. Texture-wise, we find the noodles a bit too tough to our liking.

If you are someone who can’t take spiciness, definitely be very careful of the bright red chilli sauce! It was very very spicy and left a lingering burning sensation on our tongue. Although we understand that some people enjoy the kick from this fiery chilli, we feel that it kind of overpower the taste of the well-seasoned sauce and ingredients of this dish. While the wantons were good, the entire dish feels pretty ordinary to us and doesn’t get us WANTon-ING for more.

It’s hard for one to miss the snaking queue for Yam Mee Teochew Fishball Noodles at Kovan food centre. After tasting their fishball noodles, we would say that the queue was definitely worth it! We were quick to slurp down the springy meekia which was coated with the perfect blend of soy sauce, chilli, vinegar, and pork lard. We feel that the noodles are best eaten together with the minced meat and fishball in one big mouthful to experience the explosion of flavours from all the ingredients! We will definitely join the queue for this comforting bowl of noodles again if we are in the area next time. For all the east siders, do you know that there is another branch that is run by the owner's daughter at Bedok 511 food centre? If you happen to be in the area, do support this aspiring young hawker by giving this wonderful bowl of fishball noodles a try!

It’s quite rare for us to be in Changi. So, we made it a point to queue for this famous nasi lemak! We felt that the fluffy basmati rice and the sambal were definitely the highlight of this nasi lemak. The sambal was not overly spicy and came with a tinge of sweetness. As for the chicken wings, they tasted pretty average, just like the normal crispy wing found outside. Overall, it was quite a pleasant meal and we might just join the queue and order it again if we happen to be dining in the area next time.

The unique spicy and eggy sauce kinda reminded us of the chili crab sauce! This is unlike any hor fun that you would find outside. The hor fun itself was soft and went really well with the sauce. As the portion is huge, it’s suitable for sharing. Highly recommended to come in big group as there are a variety of delicious zi char dishes to try!

Look at that huge serving of nasi lemak, they definitely were not stingy with the sambal! We quite love the fragrance of the rice, and the chicken was crispy. Was expecting more flavours from the chicken, but it felt pretty dry for me. Overall it was a pleasant meal, but seems to be lacking the wow factor! If you happen to be in the area and don’t mind queueing, you can give this a try.
