Middle Eastern & The Mediterranean🌊
Moxie has been making its rounds on social media for it’s undeniably sophisticated and clean aesthetics, attentive service, and Mediterranean food - which they did not disappoint during my visit. The Umami rice was recommended by the staff as their most popular and loved dish. This was Moxie’s rendition of a paella, simmered in shellfish bisque that was full of squid and mussels within and three grilled tiger prawns atop. This dish was truly an umami bomb of flavour, giving one that seafood savoury was but also that hint of sweetness that hits you with every bite. But that was pretty much about it, and perhaps for the price I was expecting something mind blowing.
Nonetheless, the service is impeccable and the ambience is great, despite looking extremely unassuming from its exterior.

Started off my meal at Moxie with their 2 dip platter comprising of hummus and whipped ricotta. The hummus was thick, rich, and creamy, and the black garlic confit gave me that layer of flavour I never knew I needed in hummus. The whipped ricotta was light and refreshing, and the sundries tomatoes within gave a nice tangy mouthfeel. I really thought I got lucky with my choice of dips that complemented too perfectly with the warm pita bread - that was just so soft and comforting!

Finally tried one of the most famous Greek cuisine spots in Singapore after all the procrastination. Really wanted the seafood platter, but got really unlucky as all kinds of fish were out of the stock then - so went for the grilled meat board which had lamb, sirloin, and filet mignon. No regrets. The meats were all beautifully bursting with flavour. Preferred the filet mignon over the sirloin because it was more tender, and also less chewy. The greatest of the board was the lamb chop - tender, fall of the bone kind of deliciousness, with none of that overpowering gaminess.

If you’re a fan of grilled octopus, please put this on your bucket list. One of the best I’ve tried, even though it’s marinated simply with vinegar and olive oil. The smokiness from the grilled octopus was terrific, and the texture was impeccable - not too mushy or soft, nor too chewy (you know how octopus gets sometimes). Missing it already🫠

Greek macaroni, beef, baked with béchamel and a homemade Greek tomato sauce. Apart from the uniquely shaped tubular macaroni, the whole dish tasted like a classic lasagne🤭

One of the priciest salads I’ve had but I would totally get it again. Loved how the vegetables tasted so fresh and the combination of olive oil and vinegar struck such a delightful balance. And the feta cheese was really the showstopper in this bowl of salad, giving a creamy texture with a slight tinge of saltiness with every bit. This is coming from someone who thinks that salad is a waste of money!!!

A bit of the pricier side but I really enjoyed this fresh octopus leg that was well grilled. The chimichurri sauce added a slight spice to it, though nothing overpowering, but it complemented the freshness and fishiness of the octopus with its very refreshing, herbaceous flavour.

This was such a comforting bowl full of flavour. The pretty generous portion of chicken was so well seasoned, on top of the obviously msg-laden Indomie. Don’t misunderstand me, because I am not complaining. In fact, I knew what I was in for when I ordered the Indomie bowl — that I would be welcomed with a salt fest. I however, am a sucker for comfort food like Indomie and would have it almost any day, and so this bowl was just a huge delight to me. The star of this was not only the very flavourful chicken kebab, but also their epikebab sauce that is both creamy and spicy, truly elevating the flavours of the ingredients in this bowl.

This paled so much in comparison to the indommeat Chicken bowl. The rice was honestly a tad too dry to my liking and lacking in flavour. Similarly, the beef faced the same issue as well. The sauces — epikebab sauce and garlic mayo did help to mitigate the overall lacklustre taste.

Lillet rose, pink grapefruit liqueur, sumac cordial, ginger beer, bubbles. A light, sweet, and fruity bubbly cocktail which I really enjoyed. I personally already love ginger beer, so being able to have this in a concoction was interesting to me. Loved the nodes of berry-esque essence from the sumac cordial, and the slight acidity from the pink grapefruit. A very pretty and aesthetic pink drink as well!
Great vibes for drinks, not the best or mindblowingly good food (perhaps, unique), but atmosphere might get noisy and ruins the decadent bar lounge vibe it exudes.

Angostura 7 rum, amaretto, frangelico, espresso stout, peanut butter.
Smooth and creamy cocktail with run that exudes a strong sweetness. Very light nodes of peanut butter essence, was hoping there could be more! Nonetheless, this creamy cocktail which can also give a good coffee kick is pretty fitting for a dessert, making it a sweet end to your meal.

The $29 Set Lunch gets your 2 appetisers, 2 palm-sized kebabs, and a dessert of the day. The pit roasted lamb kebab is pictured rightmost.
This was my favourite kebab of all, and primarily because the zhoug gave a flavourful spicy kick to it. The zhoug had an apparent cilantro and chilli taste to it, and it was further complemented with the fried garlic which gave the kebab a good crunch. Full of spice and flavour, as well as juicy enough lamb shreds.
