Was a tad bit oily at the bottom, but otherwise it was quite addictive and seasoned nicely.

We chose the bak mie that’s topped with pork belly, charsiew, minced pork and ramen egg. They pack the fried lard separately so it remains crispy. Pity that the meats were average and our noodles were too dry, even though the flavour was not bad. Thought it’s very cool they even have a special Truffle Foie Gras Bakmie ($16) as one of the options!

10 pieces of bola ubi kopong and it was all gone in 5 minutes 😂 We didn’t bother heating them up so there wasn’t much of a crunch, but the chewy (yet not too dense) texture won us over. Orange ones had a bit more sweetness which we liked better.

These weren’t crunchy by then it was delivered to us but that was easily sorted out with our air fryer heh. We liked the additional ikan bilis bits added on top for the extra flavour. Pretty addictive and each portion comes with 5 pieces.

A visual feast that fed us very well! Caught sight of this on Instagram and immediately ordered it for lunch the next day (cut-off time is 9pm). How good does this nasi lemak set look!

It’s said to be for 2, but it easily fed 3 of us 😂 - chicken, mackerel otah, telur balado, sambal winged beans, acar awak, ikan bilis kacang and the lightly fragrant butterfly pea rice. Personally would have liked spicier chili to go along, but loved that everything here was good! Mum gave her approval for this too so that probably means more re-ordering yay heh.

Favourite was the Smash Chimken - you get to choose from a spice level between 1 to 12 for their housemade sambal, and that’s mixed in with crunchy chopped up fried chicken. They were addictive fiery bites that came in a huge portion and though served simply with white rice, cucumber and a fried egg, it was very shiok. The portion of chicken was big and will fill you up. If you’re looking for even more, you can top on more chicken, cheese ($1), broccoli ($1), etc. Will definitely head back for a higher level of spice of their smash chimken soon.

FANGKO+ sits in a corner of Hong Kong Street with a menu of Indonesian & Western dishes. This vibrant and colourful looking one is one of their signatures, the Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah. The blue pea coconut rice was lightly fragrant and I appreciated how each component on the plate was done pretty nicely. There’s a well seasoned fried chicken thigh (was a tiny bit dry on some parts), crunchy peanut and ikan bills, keropok, sambal and a tangy achar.

Found out about Shen Noodle recently and was super excited to try, especially that it’s not as common locally - my relatives own a bakmi store back in Indo and send them over to us regularly, so bakmi is one of our childhood dishes!

Went with the classic and it was a pretty satisfying bowl. The curly noodles were springy with a good bite, and picked up the savoury stewed pork flavour well. It’s not too oily, and came with vegetables and a tasty ramen type egg. It kinda feels like a healthier version compared to the kind I’m used to 😂 Will be back!

Picked up a box of lemper from Ratu Lemper - we hadhad a mix of 5 Original Chicken and 5 Spicy Chicken. They also have other flavours like tuna, mutton satay, vegetarian, etc. Really enjoyed these! They were addictive with a flavourful shredded chicken filling, that’s sandwiched between soft and chewy glutinous rice. Ratio of filling to rice was just nice!

There’s no walk in purchases available currently, but there’s delivery and self-collection - Delivery is at $8 for a minimum $30 order, while self-collection for paid preorders is available from 11am to 1pm on Tuesdays to Sundays. Great crunch of egg and beancurd with a generous pour of sweet sauce, but was a little oily and pricey.
