That Weekend Brunch

If you’re a bread lover, then the name “Bread Yard” should be a familiar one! Located in Buona Vista, they serve generous portions of food. The only downside is that you have to arrive early before all the bread gets bought up!

I ordered their Shakshuka, a spiced tomato stew served with beef kofta kebab, feta cheese, eggs, sumac onions, pesto, and brioche. The spice level is very manageable for me, and this dish is rich in flavor, pairing well with their brioche.

We also tried their brunch classic, the Full English - Farmer’s sausage, bacon, eggs, beans, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms, brioche, honey thyme butter. It’s manageable for one person to finish.

Overall, the cafe can be a bit cramped due to its size, and there might not be available seats or food if you arrive too late after the morning rush.

We ordered the black pepper crab pasta, which is really yummy. Both of us can’t take spicy food too well, so it’s a little spicy for us. While the Steak Bolognese has thick slices of steak and a classic bolognese that will not go wrong.

This is by far our favourite cafe to hang out, and facts, headed here for at least 5 times (which is shocking because I don’t normally do that)

Highly recommend their caramel latte, because it has the richness of caramel taste and their coffee, in general, is really very good.

While, they have my bf’s all time favourite which is eggs tomato relish, with the options of egg types. This has the richness and thickness of how a tomato relish should be, despite it being a really basic dish, they do it really well. Then this is their latest dish, Cajun Prawn, which I have to say it does taste good while it’s hot, once it turns cold, it’s like 4/10. While it’s a 10/10 when it’s hot, as the cheese in the toast melts in your mouth, on top of that, the cajun prawn is the perfect match with the hollandaise sauce.

A pottery date with a cafe lunch! I would say that Cafe Melba has a huge portion and if you are looking for a meal to share, this might be the right place!

We ordered the Full Melba Breakfast and Good Ol’ Beef Burger, and oh god, we are so full! I would say that their breakfast is like any cafe’s big breakfast, but what I love about it is, you can change out some of the sides!I changed out my red beans for stirred fry mushroom . The sausage and hashbrown tasted good, with the mushrooms that were juicy and big!

As for the Beef Burger, you could choose your doneness, which I appreciate about my burgers, and they are so huge that it is impossible to eat the whole burger in one bite!

TBB SAFARI is really the type where you're ready to snuggle on their sofa all day long with a great conversation ❤️

It was by accident where I ate this mushroom croissant (cause never will I order that), but fall in love for this one ever since. Their cheese is so thick and the sautéed mushroom fits perfectly 😋 while their croissant is crispy on the outside while soft on the inside.

If you have a second stomach for dessert, choose either one of these (except the quiche) because they're so good 😍
My favourite is the éclairs and the tiramisu 🤭

My previous photo did describe how in love I'm with Ravioles De Royan, so this post will mainly be the croissant.

I really like the croissant over at merci marcel, it is very super ultra buttery inside, while the outside is really very crispy. With the jam match with the croissant, it felt like a happy morning. The only thing is that, you should order coffee instead of tea, because twice we order the tea, twice, it doesn’t have much of a taste.

The strawberry avocado toast was the one that really surprised me and almost converted me into a breakfast person (yes, I don’t really do breakfast).

Overall, this dish is very appetising making me slightly hungry after the first few bites. Despite the strawberry and pink grapefruit are sweet, it is well balanced with their guacamole and eggs. ($18.5)

Coffee is quite on point too! No badly burnt coffee nor bitter tasting one

I think I can consider myself as a regular brekkie person in @focr.sg. I’m going to post two different posts for their breakfast menu because both are pretty and amazingly delicious

First up! Breakfast Lite, which is more than enough for me, - 1 bread, 2 greens , 1 meat and 1 egg. You definitely have to order their Thick Cut Bacon, the skin is crispy while the meat is like roasted pork. Highly recommended! Also, their hashbrown is something you cannot miss too! ($16)

My bf is crazy with tomato stew and this is probably one of his favourites (yes, he keeps saying he wants to go back while I'm drafting this post out).
